$350 corvette 350 Thanks GRMers/Craigslook
I know this has been asked before but I don't remember the answer. Is there somewhere to find a list of all the different cars that have been to the challenge?

I'd like that, too. Of course, I'm sitting here with the challenge issues for 2003-2006 a few feet away from me. If one hasn't been compiled, I'll try to come up with one with what I have. I should have the 2007-2008 issues also, and I'm certain I've got at least one or two earlier issues, too.
Any particular car you're looking for, or just curious to see the entire list?

My guess is Civic/Miata.
That'd be my guess exactly. Civic for the simplicity and weight, and Miata for the simplicity, light weight, and suspension architecture.
I'll try to start compiling a list tonight, if I have time. If not, in a few days. Does listing by make/model/generation sound like a good idea for a basic list?
Edit:
I've got the $1500 Challenge issue, and the 2003-2007 issues, and should be able to get the 08 and 09 results online, which means I'm only missing a couple, I think.
I'll list by year, and grand total. Any car that has been entered multiple times will end up counted multiple times, at least for now.

No interior. Needs a new front fender. Dent in rear quarter. Won't start with the key, has to be roll started. Brake booster is toast (per owner) so the brakes don't work. He's come down $250 via email. But has revealed new issues with the car after further questioning that he didn't originally reveal. I told him since he's 3 hours away I wanted to know exactly what he had before I made the drive.
You can't go wrong with scrap price.

The V-8 powered front engine lightweight RWD cars- the 240/260/280 Z's and the RX-7's were 'da shizzle for a few years, but the CRX's and Miata's (turbo or otherwise) have totally dominated the last few years, with quite a few BMW's thrown in.
Turbo Dodges and Mitsu's have been very strong performers.
Most appreciated by contestants (challenger's choice, general talk, etc) seems to always lean toward radical builds (Zamboni, V-8 CRX, V-8 510, Hybrid Fiero, anything by Wheels777, motorcycle powered Nissan), great stories (Clown Cars, school projects, husband/ wife build, locost built in living room, sucker Vette), classics (Karmann Ghia, VW Bug, '40 Chevy, Fiat 500), and just downright quirky (Corvair, BatVan, Phostiva, Yugos) .
I know left out a lot of my favorites- please forgive me!

I'm totally on the mitsu bandwagon now. I can't freaking believe how much power you can make with those things on stock internals. Something to be said for not dicking around with turbocharging a motor that was never meant to be turbocharged. I drove Les & Matt's Mirage after the Challenge a couple years ago, and it was downright scary fast. I think if someone brings a clean one that handles decent, it could totally dominate. Unfortunately, that someone won't be me...at least not this year.

Here's a sneak peek at A&M's 2010 build...
Just drove 8 hours across the state to pick up a $250 P.O.S., and I'm getting started on studying for an exam at 11pm the night before. I love this hobby.
I've had plans to attend two or three previous Challenges. Luck has, historically, not been on my side, however. Maybe this is the year for my luck to turn around?

Thanks, we're really excited, and the build has officially started now. I'm going to try and surprise everyone with the car when we show up to the hotel, but I just wanted to throw this out there.

Fixed it for you.
Nothing I can do about that, Texas is too massive. It's shorter to drive from Texas to North Carolina than from one side of Texas to the other. Everything takes forever.
