Super annoying when it's a huge thread. MazdaDeuces R63 thread for instance.
Lots of other forums take you to the last added thread, is that something that can be added here?

It takes you to the latest post but not to the first new post since you last visited. There used to be a way to do that and they took it away in one of the updates. :-(
Yes, I usually only go to a thread one time and don't repost because it's too hard to find out where I left off. Unless it's a slow enough moving post that I can find my place again fairly easily.
The time it takes to sort through the thread just makes it not worthwhile to post again on the same thread. Unless I'm lucky I don't even know what page I was on when I posted, but even if I did remember I have to scroll down from the top to find out where I left off which adds up to a lot of time on a slow internet connection.
Every other forum has the option to take you to the post you were on the last time you visited that thread so I know it's kinda SOP in forum software.
I won't follow up on this thread after this post unless I happen to have spare time in the next hour or so because it will eat up too much of my time to see what others have said
Apparently unlike quite a few of you I actually work during the work day and am busy at night.
That arrow takes you to the last post in the thread, not the newest one you haven't read. You have to go up and find the last one you haven't read.
The lack of this feature is a big reason I rarely post anymore.
Why can't the forum take me to the latest added post to a followed topic?
Because it's an ancient homegrown crafting, it's origins and authors lost to time like the long forgotten technology of the dwarves of Moria in the 3rd age.
Once you get used to a forum run on XenForo like advrider this one seems like it's a pair of scissors at a gun fight.

It's terrible!
(What are we bitching about?)
You'll need to log in to post.
