Been noticing that since the revamp a few years ago, a lot of you who used to post on that board have never returned. Is there a reason for that? I know for a fact that there are a ton of you who are into non-marque specific classic cars.
It seems ironic that when I go loking for help with the Bugeye, Healey 3000 or MGB, I am getting more help on this board than the CM site. Not that I am complaining about the help.
Just wondering.

When they were a combined board it was easy to jump into the CM section and post stuff up. Since the split I pretty much forget that the CM board exists.

I am totally into the classics, but waste, err... spend MUCH too much time on this site already.
I try not to go there (or post), because I am trying to control my addiction.
I occasionally hop over there but there just isn't a lot of traffic over there (and a lot of canoes in comparison to this site).

I try to post when I find something interesting.
Lately, the effing pop up subscription ad prevents me from being able to easily browse the forums from my Droid, which is how I'm often viewing this site.
Clunky log-in requiring a different password to a mediocre forum.
I liked it and visited it often when it was a part of this board. On its own, not worth the time or effort to visit. There are far better forums to visit instead.
I didn't even know that it ever existed, how do I get there?
Got a link?

Yeah, that add is really annoying. It would be really nice if it wasn't there anymore.
I have not been there since the board software change. I think I have a login and PW but I really don't remember.

Look at the left side of this page, or the bottom of the main forum page, and you'll see a "recently on the Classic Motorsports forum" or some such link.
I agree that it made more sense when the boards were combined. The two mags' reader bases have more in common than they don't, so why make an effort to divide them?
I just lost interest. Not sure why.
It's the same login, for what it's worth.

Things move a bit slower over there, a bit more straight. Good information, cool projects, not as much joking around.

I wish they were combined
I liked it better when they were combined too

It's easier to keep up on one forum. I don't stray far from this forum much.
iirc, they were separated to keep the high-brow CM crowd safe from us GRM ruffians.
For me I like the variety here. The CM focuses on just the older stuff. I am not an ageist.
"...when the boards were combined..." seems to be the common denominator.
And yeah...having to log in even when the password is the same is just another straw.
It is kind of a shame because I know a lot of you will cross the street to check out a neat old classic. (While the reverse might not be true)
They also need to get the readers projects thing going again. I am really glad that it came back to this board and it is becoming my favourite part of the board.
Anyways, since it a part of the publication family, I have to hope it gets busy.

Me too^.
It's hard to recreate awesome...
While it's still on the menu at the bottom of the page, that menu pushes it out of the forefront of our usages.
Based upon usage numbers listed on the forum page they ought to be ordered
Grassroots Motorsports
Off Topic
$2012 Classifieds
Sprockets
Builds Projects
And who knows where Classic Motorsports fits in because it's not even listed on that page.
Of course the order could vary depending upon what GRM wants to push. But obviously they aren't pushing Classic Motorsports.
Build Projects is way out of order.
As they say, "out of sight, out of mind."

Double agreed on dual accounts, etc... I'm sure there are technical reasons for that bit of nastiness but they aren't good ones. It is mostly all the same people either way so same/same, I just post here.

Same login ID, but required a different password. That was really annoying. Especially since it would cause me to be logged out of the GRMS board if I logged into the CMS board.
I take it you guys finally fixed that?
