So, I might need to go buy this thing, for reasons - https://bham.craigslist.org/cto/d/fairfield-2008-pontiac-grand-prix-gxp/6834624957.html
Description says it doesn't run, and it doesn't have a lot of details on what that means. And at least 2 people have given up on it. So, what goes wrong with these things? How deep is the rabbit hole?
Doesn't sound like someone with much diagnostic smarts.
Shouldn't be too hard to figure out why there isn't the right combination of fuel/air/spark/bang.
Easily recoup the $800 in parts if you really can't solve it...but I'm sure it wouldn't come to that.
Maybe the PASS system?
The heads on that car are worth $300 any day of the week. Buy it, fix it, drive it until the transmission explodes or just part it out.
Buy it, put driveline in Fiero or other mid engine setup.
Most likely the PASS system, but could be PCM, ignition module or similar has gone bad.
If it was local i’d be sending a tow truck now.
it don't run cuz it ain't skeered!
Yeah, so that one didn't last long enough for me to hook up my trailer. Not too heartbreaking, as I kinda want a drivable donor. That said, if you guys see one that checks the boxes, let me know.
I hang out on grandprixforums.com. Good resource for any/all tech questions you might have.
