No problem. The awesome things about the Element are immediately obvious, which made my wife and I fall in love with it at first. Unfortunately, it takes some time for the design flaws to reveal themselves to you, and you become less happy with your purchase about 3-6 months in.
I think the Element is a great car for people with no kids in car seats. You can solve the slick floors with some red collapsible Harbor Freight cargo organizers in the rear, 3-across.

Nah, ya broke it. Even with kids out of car seats, they still need to get in and out of the back seats on their own, which necessitates opening those gigantic front doors fully, to access the rear half-doors in crowded spots.
It's a good car if you rarely need to access the rear seats. If you need to get back there in tight spots, it sucks.

My wife got rear ended a few years ago in her Toyota Yaris (basically the same car as an xA), and had similar requests to you wife's. We ended up with a Ford Explorer.
This!!! I have had a bunch over the years and my wife loved them for what sounds like all the same things that your wife seems to want in a vehicle. When I got the expedition (for me) My wife was intimidated by it at first (looks big and you sit significantly higher than the explorer) but after two weeks she declared it as the perfect vehicle for her (because it was bigger and she sat even higher) and I was left having to go car shopping again for me.

My kids have been able to get in out of seatbelts since 3 years of age. So no big deal.

That's great, but they still need to exit the car. That's when the problems arise
My Mom is super short and she loves her Forester. They've had several but they really like the '05 that they have now. 210k miles.
What did you decide? What did she get?
