Does anyone have some insight or experience with what it would cost to have a windshield replaced on a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, paid out of pocket?
Chip has turned into long crack that is into the line-of-sight. I checked and my agent says that I'd be subject to deductible ($500.)
Simple windshield. No radar type accident avoidance eyes or other high tech behind the glass.

A little bit apples-to-oranges, but maybe an upper bound: the windshield in our 2021 Pacifica (so more tech than you) cost $821 (before tax) to replace by the dealer, near Lancaster PA, October 2022. The breakdown on the invoice was:
- $198 glass
- $314 R&R
- $60 polyurethane kit
- $250 "ADAS dynamic" (which I assume is dealing with the technology?)

Around here most of the windshield places have gotten super competitive.
For plain tinted glass it might be $300? Maybe more if you want OE glass.
I'd call safelite and get a quote; besides the horror story on here a few months back I've never seen any issues and they are efficient and reasonable
I plan to call safelite and a local shop also. I just wanted to go in armed with some knowledge of what seems like a high cost and what seems like a low cost. Its a super common vehicle so replacement should be super common also.
Alpha suggests $600 at dealership, so likely OEM...maybe.
Duke suggests $300 at aftermarket
Good, those prices are in line with my expectation that the out of pocket cost will be under the $500 deductable.
Safelite website quote came back at $404.98 (includes new wiper blades) with drop off (3.5 miles away) as soon as Monday (today is Saturday) or mobile service as soon as Tues.
The Safelite site had a place to enter a discount code...hmmm? About two seconds of google brought me to a $80 discount code.
$404.98 became $324.98 Add tax and grand total is $389.61 that is with a BS $39.99 recycle fee. But, price is good and service is quick.
Yes, I read the GRM horror story of cowl damage.

I've used Safelite twice with abs0lutely no issues. Once was putting a windshield in my Challenge Miata. I ordered a plain windshield and the service truck showed up with a tinted one. I said I wasn't paying extra for the tint and the guy dropped the price of the glass and dropped the recycle fee, so the whole job was less than the quote. $189 in total.
Buddy and I both building track e46's, following cage install, local glass shop (independent) was $350 per car, to come to my house and install original rear windshields and provide and install new front windshields, at my house, in my shop. Which includes a decent amount of travel/tolls from their shop.
Just had Safelite here on Thursday to do the windshield on the 128i, which has a rain sensor but nothing else. Tech was really good, and as an extra bonus my job was randomly selected for an audit by the district quality manager, who was also great. I was pleasantly surprised. The job was covered by my insurance, but the tab would have been $575.
