after much searching and advice seeking we found an "inexpensive" used lift. Today we bought a Benwil GP7 lift. It is made in Japan.
Ours is so JDM it is RHL and comes from a honda dealer.
The installed price is less than the cost of a new Chinese lift shipped.
Make sure you install the controls on the right side of the lift for the authentic JDM Yo! experience ;)
of course!
pic as of earlier today before removal from Honda

Wow! Do they have more? I still haven't bought a Christmas present for myself yet!

yes they have several 5500 lb and some 10000lb left
linky
they are that price each, regardless of weight.
you people with high-bay garages make me sick....
yup, that's why I jumped on it.
Why spend $1500 on a chinese one.
I wish I had the ceiling height to have gotten a 10k
Watch out when the Vtec kicks in yo!

Wow, congrats! I've got a two-post lift in my future - even my wife insists on it.

The controls always go on the right hand side. Drive car in, get out of left door, set left arms, walk around car, set right arms, hit controls. For the proper JDM experience, they would go on the left.

My wife would definitely prefer that I get a lift instead of another car! I'm calling first thing tomorrow. Was delivery and installation that much extra?

yeah, because they are based down there. He did suggest I just buy the lift and see if I can find someone to do the install cheaper up here. I'm paying it all because it is easier to let a professional do the install. I don't have the tools to install the serious hardware to my floor. they are also supposed to clean it up a bit, fix the release handle, and make sure everything works when they do the install.

Looks like I have to forego this opportunity after all. My wife got into a relatively minor fender bender. Everyone is ok, no injuries or anything, but it just isn't worth it to fix the $800 Volvo. That's the blessing and the curse of the cheapos - they are disposable, but man, I put so much time into it... sigh.
that sux. I love cheapo cars, I buy em cheap and sell em for a profit when I get bored

Actually, they probably will be on the left. The left is where we have the power feed so they'll have to set it up that way,
