Bippu is all about VIP style: nearly zero ride height, a ton of negative camber and, generally, a luxury nameplate attached to a full-size, rear-drive chassis like a Toyota Crown or Nissan Cedric.

I was just saying the other day, I can appreciate a nicely done stance or bippu car if there is obvious passion and effort and care put into it. Its not my thing, not something I would do, but if it has gorgeous paint and bodywork and nice expensive wheels and a swank interior, I can appreciate it. What I can't stand is the MkIV Golf with rotted out quarter panels, poorly rolled front fenders, a plasti-dipped hood , one or more body panels of a different color and curb-damaged knockoff-brand wheels and is not a works-in-progress. That's not a stance car, that's just a E36 M3box that you bought wheels for that don't fit properly.

Can we do kyusha Kai next?

A former employee of ours had a Bippu style Toyota Aristo.

I realise my sample size is only "one" but I was very underwhelmed. Too low, rode rough and handled badly. Considering that it had a 2JZ turbo, it was slow too.

Slow to the point that we were going for lunch in it and one of the guys asked "This thing has a turbo, right?".

It did have a very expensive knot hanging from the rear view mirror though.

I'm sure there is a fine line between "Bippu" and "Broken".

A stock turbo Aristo isn't a terribly fast car. If he didn't mod it at all, it's only pushing about 280hp.

I'm thiiiiiiis close to turning 50 years old and I love this stuff. It's a craft. An art. I'm pretty sure that's how the builders see it so who am I to argue?

Actually it's a religious thing. Shinto or the fat guy. can't remember exactly. I believe Shinto, because those charms are to "ward away" the "evil spirits". 

I know I just posted a pic of my stupid VIP barge yesterday, but how often do we really get to focus on style-only cars here?

And some of us will make a car's suspension completely impractical on the street to dodge cones in a parking lot a half a tenth quicker. 

I'll bet the ratty Golf guy is having just as much fun, if not more, than the cone chasser. 

I'm thinking that the guys at all the tire dealers are licking their lips over stretched tires and humongous negative camber.

Not a fan of stance/ tilty wheel shenanigans at all. Lose functionality and imo looks stupid. To each their own though
