There must be some back story to this. Seems too high profile to keep secret.
Who wrecked a brand new Ferrari recently?
Insurance Auction Cleveland, Ohio this week.
Corrected Should be...
A googling of the VIN shows this to be the exact car at its previous showroom with only 792 miles and showing a sticker price of $347,400 link
I'm not sure I agree with your "should be..."
Looking at this picture:
Add some cycle fenders, chop the roof, trim what's left of that bodywork away and you're good to go!
$1517 to paint the calipers and $927 for colored seat belts...there really is a sucker born every minute!
The "other options" cost more than my brand new Subaru....
Bid is already $5,600 for what can only be viewed as an engine donor. I suppose it would make my Miata sound better.....
so...buy the car for cheap, pillage what's left of the Carbon fiber and make a tidy profit?

I bet it sells for 60-80k
Unfortunate. That is a fantastically well spec'd 488. Even the right color and interior.
Latest donor for Ferarri-powered Miata.

I'll have to go look at the window sticker but iirc the factory battery charger for my 360 was over a 1k option! It's very pretty, but stays in its case and I use a $40 battery tender.

Dude, that's peanuts - it's $11,811 to paint the roof black!
Whoever wrecked that car did a REALLY good job; I don't see a straight panel left.
Also, I somehow missed this model coming out. What a way to learn it exists

That'll buff out, at least if someones lets that crazy Russian guy who fixed the BMW at it for a few weeks.
Dad? Can I borrow the Ferrari? I PROMISE to be careful.

Heard just before the accident: "Hold my Chianti and watch this..."
Very sad. Supercars need a few more horsepower settings: Wealthy guy with no real driving experience: 300hp. Son of wealthy guy with no real driving experience: 155hp.
Maybe someone could develop a voice-activated system (like Siri) that listens for the phrase Watch This! and preemptively dials it back to the HP of a '92 Civic.
Put the motor in a Fiero-based replica and really mess with people's minds!
I bet Gas Monkey buys it to flip.
Shouldn't the "B is for Build" guy be on this?

What the heck is a "suspension lifter" for $5,061 ? Is that a fancy term for floor jack? I've heard of sway bars, a arms, struts, shocks, springs, but never suspension lifter.

Remember that button on the dash of Speed Racer's car that made it leap into the air? Yep. That's it
