Not unless it involves burning the abomination at the stake.

Opinion invalid, I6+e36=perfection. Leave your LS engines where they belong(in GMs)
You know that BMW makes V8 engines, right? They are very nice engines too.
Or you know you can jump on the band wagon and stuff yet another berkeleying LSx into yet another car that didn't have it from the factory.
berkeleying yawn y'all.
It just occurred to me that Tim building an lsx swapped drift e36 might be a fantastic way to troll the board regulars.

I'd venture a guess that E36 M3ty tuning solutions were most likely your issue. yamaha, the best of Buick 3.8s turbod to the hilt, maybe made 750-800hp, at that level they were a potential hand grenade, unreliable at best,at that level! an LS-2/LS-3,turbod are just coming into there own(hi performance area),at 800/1500HP, and they are tough motors, much more performance engineering into them from the factory! and,as always,Tuning a HI-PERFORMANCE engine, is where the true magic happens.

In that case buy a non-turbo car to swap. There is still a certain level of sacrilege when they lack the six pot.
As a former 87GN owner I have to agree. V8's are cool but turbo Buicks need v6 turbos. You just made it into just another ss.
