Just had the fun of listening to my sister in law bitch for the past 15 minutes on my great taste in buying great pos cars, 2011 with my great buy at night with out looking under the truck a 98 izusu rodeo with ended up getting junked in 2013 from frame rot, then bought my 81 spirirt which spit out the rear end this past sept. Just went looking for a new car, my sister found a good ford probe which I passed up, and then pastedvon a 95 toyato land cruiser cause they would not comevdown on price......a week or two later I blew $1100 on a shiny 98 izusu amigothat turned out to need more work then I thought....
Gasline not a big deal with a alt is what I knew about. Things I found later is a couplevof sensors, cat is paty cloged, frame in worst shape then I thought, it had been sitting forvsome time in a back yard, needs brakes, not sure how long lines might last, the front half shafts have no boots, the 4x4 system will not disengage....and I am sure there might be a couplevof other things.....
I am going to go pound my head agaist the wall right for a while.....sigh..............
Find the bottom of the Scotch bottle early tonight?

Two Isuzus and an AMC. I think I see your problem.
$1500 will get you a late-90s Corolla that will run forever.

In my experience, later Rodeos dont seem to hold up very well, and we dont even have rust down here.
I did have an early Rodeo with the GM TBI v6 and 5spd manual/2wd with 260k that ran great and im confident there is NOTHING that could go wrong on that vehicle (other than rust, hah) that i would have a hard time fixing. I even had to replace the flywheel because the ring gear broke loose and that was still easy. I bought it for $200 and only sold it because i had no reason to keep it. Sometimes i wish i hadnt sold it, but if i kept every vehicle i didnt have any use for i would still have all 50 cars ive ever owned.
Typing from the phone and pressing, "v" instead of the space bar. The rest I can't make an excuse for you.

Think of it as being on the path to wisdom and enlightenment. Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from mistakes. . What happened to the AMC? Seems like a rear end swap from the pick n pull gets it back on the road. Ford ranger 8.8 or jeep rear for a donor?

what oldtin said … besides who wants to listen to their sister
Looks like you need to follow the advice I keep getting and pick up a Volvo 850 or V70.
Just don't go look at it at night. In the rain. Without a flashlight. Drunk.

We're all car addicts and our drug of choice is always readily available. Addicts usually aren't known for their pragmatic and logical decisions.
Thanks guys, just one of those nights being very down about things. The rear leaf springs on the spirit broke and the plates holding the spings to the axle rusted out and the blots on old side fell off, need to replace all the hardware in the back that holds the rear end in place. Gonna collect all the parts this winter for thecrear andcwhat I need to fix thecfront suspion and do everthing at tax time. I know everone is saying I should dump my amc and take what ever I can get for it. Besides, its the only female I have in my life right.....I need sometype of project mistress in life somehow.
As for the drinking.....sometimes I wished I drank, drugs would be so much cheaper......

They way I buy em it'll get you 3. This is what 550$ in corollas looks like to me
At least you lots of spare parts to keep at least one on the road.

Not as many as you'd think. They both represent the first model year of their chassis, and that chebby kme has the dubious honor of christening the zz family of engines for the a platform, whereas the wagon still has a-family engines.
