it does seem like a lot... of very very cool. I have always liked wagons.. fast wagons even more.
now was I looking at the regular cts wagon.. or did they go to 5 bolt hubs for this one instead of 6?

I hope you're right.....

Amen. That's how I got my first gen CTS-V. (sort of) reliable with anchor-like depreciation...gotta love it. Is it weird that I'd take a sedan or wagon, but not the coupe?

I'd take the coupe or wagon but not the sedan. If it doesn't have huge storage room, might as well go for the sportiest look.
And just to be clear: It'll get groceries, it'll get the hell out of some groceries, thank you very much.
Having been a Caddy owner x2 I can say I really wasn't feeling their offerings after removal of the Eldo, and the XLR was just waaaaaaaaay too much $$$. CTS-V Coupe is cool but they botched the rear-end, I mean it looks like a Prius! Anyway, this wagon is almost enough to redeem Caddy, it's pretty hot but as GPSnorkle (sorry for abbreviating) pointed out, wait a few years, they'll be priced right...
Having just talked with a CTS-V manual transmission owner at a recent autox, I would rock a manual-trans wagon version. Hard.
Middle looks good and the drivetrain rocks. I'm not a fan of the front or back on caddies - same goes for the wagon. OTOH, I have big dogs and always need a hauler around. Was thinking of a bmw 5er wagon with a v8/manual transplant, this could change that thought.

Me too. I plan on opening a CTS-V Wagon fund very soon. All the money I save by working on my cars myself (and reducing my micro brew consumption) will go in there. At some point, the depreciation curve will intersect that bank account balance. When that happens, it will be a glorious day indeed.
Two potential pitfalls. 1) I raid that account early to buy something automotive and shiny. 2) The depreciation curve bottoms out before I have a chance to buy in, and then it starts climbing. If that's the case, I'll just steal one.
Who am I kidding, I should just buy the die cast version and a Miata and be happy about it.
