No, I completely reject that stupid term. They are Estate cars or Wagons.

It's still cheaper than a WRX Sir-Breaks-A-Lot transmission, which, last time I looked, is $2500 a pop because they break so often. Which is why I was looking at STIs instead of WRXs, STI is more expensive to buy in but they are cheaper in the long run. But they didn't make an STI wagon
And the more I drive, the more H-gate-and-clutch pisses me off. It's so inefficient for driving. You have to keep letting off to shift. If you have a turbo, that is all kinds of wrong. Automatics or reasonably quick shifting DCTs allow you to keep the turbo spun up when you shift without having to resort to antilag. Antilag is awesome, mind you, but it is totally impractical.

WRX transmissions from the 08+ generation are not known for breaking. I know several people with those cars with all different kinds of mods and none of them had a failure.
As far as keeping RPM up I think Cobb or some company has software that keeps the throttle up between shifts but idk the WRX wasn't a particularly laggy car when I owned it and mine was running 22 psi at the time which is significantly more than stock.
