Saw this locally. The first time I drove by it I thought it was an awfully big hotrod, then my brain said, "wait, that was a lot of sparkplug wires." Sure enough it was a V16. I know there were a couple V16 cars, but those engines have to be at least as rare as one coming from a tank or aircraft. The engine alone is probably 1000 lbs... Any guesses what it's out of?

hahahahahahahahaha

just wondering if thats like driving a triple trailer on the highway... no room for turns.......

also... the Caddy V16s didn't look like that. Caddy had 2(from Wiki) one was narrow and tight(35 degree), while the 2nd was wider, and low (135 degree)

That V16 looks like it might be from a plane??? That supercharger fits there like it belongs

Both vehicles featured here look like death traps on rubber tires! But I'd sure like to try either or both of them once!!!!

It's not for everyman, but I like it too. It takes imagination, more than a little talent, and lots of confidence to come up with something like that. Really unique!

When I get a chance I'll stop by again and take a picture of it sitting next to my Midlana car. It's literally about twice as big.

I'm suspecting it's a "mock" engine, with something more common underneath.

The headers are straight up small block Chevy, only four of them instead of two.

The spark plugs don't line up with where the exhaust ports would suggest the cylinder should be, and are quite a long ways away from where a cylinder "should" be.

That would be my guess as well. Looks to me to be Chevy heads with a fake DOHC valve covers. It's still cool that he was able to marry one V8 to another.

In reply to SkinnyG:

Agreed, the fact that there's air under what should be the exhaust cam bump in the valve cover (never mind the bolts through it) agrees.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty interested in that really clean gc8 behind it.

I get a feeling that's all hiding a straight six or something.

Looking at the passenger side, the "block and head" are a single piece of sheet metal, the headers are welded to it and the front set of headers dead end into the rear set.

If you look at the drivers side you can just see the actual exhaust drop just below the chassis rail.

Don't get me wrong, its awesome that someone out the time into building it, and its very unique. Just not for a second believing it a working running engine.

There's a guy in Germany who has a radial aircraft engine powered rat rod that I'll try and find. Its running driving awesome.

Packard never had a V16 and that's not a Cadillac.

Fake is lame.

5cyls get a pass, because they sound like pissed-off banshees when they have a proper exhaust manifold on them.

Upon further review I do believe that the whole engine is fake. The exhaust pipes show no sign of ever getting hot.
