...and.... GO
1971 Ford F100 Custom, long bed, 360ci w/factory AC, automatic. No rust on the body, but one big, shallow dent in the passenger door. Interior needs a good cleaning and a more appealing seat cover. Engine is reported to be good except the PO installed an Edelbrock intake poorly and it leaks coolant into the crankcase. Hasn't developed a knock yet (reportedly). Robins-egg-blue, with sunburn on the roof and hood. Clear title in-hand.
He wasn't going to try and sell it, and was surprised to have interest. He was planning on scrapping it on Monday or Tuesday, so I would need to act now (or not). I'm betting $3-400 would take it.
What say ye?
a 71 f100|?
and you need enabling?
what wrong with you?
do it, do it, do it!!
It's certainly worth saving from being scrapped, even if you put a couple of weeks' work into it and flip it.
Uncle Jessie says, "Buy it NOW!"
Hell, you had me at no rust. Did you buy it yet?

What's wrong with you? WHY ISN'T THIS IN YOUR DRIVEWAY? At that money, you can't lose.
Heck yes. My dad had a maroon '69 when I was a kid. Long bed, 302, triple fuel tanks. He sold it 20 years ago and I still haven't forgiven him for it.
As Our Nike overlords would say "Just Do It!"
Worst case scrap is still more than that.
They're great trucks, and finding one with factory air conditioning is rare. Well worth the money.
Yeah John, get it NOW. Also, don't listen to Crankwalk. There is a ton of interest in solid old trucks around here and some elbow grease could turn it into a solid usable truck or easy flip fodder.
Shoot. You can break it and make 3 times that without out even thinking. For $400, I'd already have in my driveway running through everything.
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!
Oh hell.... If you don't, I would.
$3-400? Offer him the three dollars!

A '71 F100 with no rust? Under a grand?
Berk yeah...
Hell, even if you don't keep it, you should be able to sort out the engine and easily double your investment. There's a growing market for trucks of that era.
My rule: never pass up a car for sale less than it'd bring scrap. Hasn't let me down let.
I mean really, you need to be enabled?

I haven't read your post beyond the title yet I say buy whatever it is you are lusting after! If this were my thread I would expect you all to support my emotional need for a new ride!
It's been three hours. Let's see the pictures of your new truck.

What are you talking about? I didn't say scrap it, I'm saying if its 300 bucks then it's worth more than that in metal. It's a good rule of thumb to buy it since you can't lose.
Haven't bought it yet, but instructed my FIL to arrange the deal. If the guy will bite on $400, I'll post pictures by the end of the week.
Pass it to me for quick profit if you change your mind.
Look in my garage. 360 stroked to 445.
I have 800 for my truck with Ranger XLT package vinyl top and rear mounted fuel tank.
Engine was in bad shape when I bought it.
If you need any advice or help finding parts etc. let me know I have most dealers for these trucks on speed dial.
