VW Scirocco II's

Yeah not as coveted as the first gens, but they're still pretty light and tossable. They don't have the mechanical woes of the later Corrados, but are less rust prone than other A1 chassis cars. Both of the ones that I've had were about $900 as found and have needed the usual maintenance make overs you'd expect out of a 25 year old car.

Well sorted ones can be found for about $3000.

Good point. I have seen a few posted for really low dough. One was like $2,700 with no interior and painted some weird kinda light pea green. But when I thought about trying to put something like that together, the light quickly fades.

I think the guy with the white one still has it. You're never going to find a 323GT. Go for the GC! Parts are dirt cheap!

Yeah... my only problem with the GC is that the F2T/H-type swap isn't quite as straightforward as i was initially thinking.

But they DO look great!

Looking at the list on the last 4 pages I seem to be living your cheapest dreams.

I just made my $250 Escort wagon into a great DD (Missed the "Dusty Rose" one by a day on CL).

Got the Aspire with the B6T turbo along with another Aspire and a Capri XR2 turbo...kinda had a theme going.

My current hunt is for a Pinto/Mustang II for a 2.3 turbo motor that appeared due to my search for a 5.0 Mustang convertible. Found an 84 GT turbo convertible with a bad motor and got 3 turbocoupes because they were cheap. I did finally get the 5.0 vert but it was too dented and now powers a Ranger. I have fulfilled my yearning for Miata and P71 police cars...Need to build something silly now.

Maybe a Shelby clone...got my eye on an Omni.....I could call her...Midge!

Yeah, that's a Mustang. It's a Mustang II, affectionately known as a Pintostang, but still it's not a Pinto strictly speaking.
