It’s never too soon to start a child down the road of car addiction, and there is perhaps no better way to get that journey started than with a Power Wheels.

Of course, this being Grassroots Motorsports, why give the child in your life a stock Power Wheels when you could give them one with a bit more pep? …

Awesome vid.  We live on a big hill -- when my kids burn up the gearboxes on their cars they just might become gravity racers  devil

Hmm, I kind of like the side pipe Photoshop on my daughter's Mustang. I have some PVC pipe sitting around too.

I always upgraded my kids with 12v lawn mower batteries.   Cheaper and they charge faster with a car charger.

Placed in the front as in a jeep they just go faster, place one in the rear of a Grave Digger model however and you get a wheelie machine.

Be careful putting a full sized car wing on one, it looks cool but sits well beyond the sides of the car and tends to get snagged my trees and stuff.

You didn't hear it from me.

Thanks, a car charger would indeed be way faster than the weak 1.5A chargers that come with these things.  I wish I'd thought of that!

The mighty max batteries from Lowe's area awesome.  I do the 12v 35Ah.

Wrap the drive wheels in old bicycle tires to get them to hook up.  I have had the best luck with small sheet metal screws to attach them.  Do not increase the voltage if you do this; you'll blow the gearboxes.

What size is the original battery ?   I picked up a 12v 12AH battery at the swap meet the other day and wondered what it was for....

Duct tape also works well to add traction and is easily replaceable without tools or risk of screws coming out in the yard to be stepped on.

Original batteries tend to be like 9Ah or smaller. If you have a smaller one, 9Ah is often the same footprint so if you don't want to dremel out the insides or relocate that's the max size you can use

Any idea which would be better, duck tape or flex tape?
