This is traffic cam video of a motorcycle crash yesterday on I-35 in Minneapolis, actually very near my house. https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/motorcyclist-walks-away-from-crash-on-i-35w/?intcid=CNR-01-0623 The story says he was unhurt, which is remarkable since he didn't have any safety gear and was actually wearing shorts. The story also says he was avoiding another car which I can't see - it looks like he just dumped the bike.
Glad he is ok, but I can assure you that he has the nastiest of road rash and will rethink riding without safety gear.
Interesting that he chose to abandon the relative safety of the stopped cars to walk into the fast lanes of cars that were still moving.

I once went down at ~5mph on a gravel road, it wasn't any fun at all.

With the adrenalin dump he must have had he was probably in severe tunnel vision not to mention having a lot of trouble jumping quickly into a new reality. Lucky he wasn't wiped out.

I know all about it and learned the hard way. I have three motorcycle accidents, one I was taken unconscious to the er via ambulance and spent the best part of three days in the hospital.
I don't ride with shorts anymore, not even around the block. Gloves are a must.
ATGATT is how I choose to ride.
Why did he go down? No one around, didn't get cut off, no panic maneuvers and no rain or ice around?
