I really don't know what I think.
It's small so that's good for beginners. Get's 70 or so mpg. That's good too.
It has 14 hp which would make me think it would be relegated to low speed roads. In which case it would essentially be appeal to scooter guys who zoom around the city. At 150 cc's you'll need an M endorsement on your license and insurance to operate on the streets unlike a moped.
14 hp, same as my wife's car! . I think that it is not enough of a price break from a Ninja. Kawi has a better reputation and more HP. But don't count out Kymoco, they are steadily growing the same way the Korean car mfgs. did. This is another step in that direction.
I'd say it looks more like a step up from the Lifan LF200 than a competitor to the Ninja 250 at this point. Wouldn't surprise me if the Kymco is a newer design with better quality.

Yup. From the looks of it, it is. They're challenging the "beginner bike" realm I suppose. It sounds like a hoot to me!
The ninja 250 is about 25 hp. But that thing's only $500 less than the ninja, no thanks. I wish we got the small bikes like the CBR125 over here.

Thats pretty much what it is, an air cooled CBR125 rip off. I thought it was grossly overpriced, and it looks like you guys agree. The CBR125 sells for $2999 for a new 08, and $3499 for a new 09, but I don't think anybody pays retail, and thats in CDN dollars.
It will be a tough sell being an air cooled Taiwanese single, at that price.
