I'm currently riding the speed triple because I have the k1200s down for paint. The paint was decent, but I bought a used corbin smugglers trunk and it needed to match, so I'm paiting the entire bike.
Of course these things snowball and while all the bodywork is off I decided to install a dynojet power commander with autotune, updated cam chain tensioner, updated cam chain guard, new plugs, coolant flush, oil change, hid low beam, mpr double bubble tinted shield, and a few other things. I HOPE to have it back on the road next week, because it is much better for my commute (72 miles round trip mostly interstate) than the Triumph.
oh and I have 8k miles on the k1200s this year and under 2k on the Triumph, but I've only had the Triumph a couple of months.
nope, they're still crashin' 'em here, three medevac choppers called out last weekend alone for MC crashes
Got a nice ride in today and probably get another one going to work tomorrow. Nice weather in Chicagoland in mid-November. Woot!
I rode on Monday at lunch (~60 miles) and after work (~110 miles). I didn't have a chance to ride like I wanted too all summer. But here in SC, we can ride almost year round
The wife and I did about 100 miles this weekend. It was pretty cold - I need some better cold weather gear.
But as it has cooled off, we have seen more sport bikes in one weekend then we saw all summer here in Cleveland. I have no clue where they were hiding or why they seem to have come out when it got under 60 degrees out.

How many miles you have on 2 wheels, Grtechguy?
about 8,000 this season and still riding.....don't take it personal, one of my friends rides a Dyna Lowrider we pick on him too.
it goes both ways.
Calm down Hess- The tech guy is a rider and does plenty of miles. I had 100k by 1975, so I don't have to take no chit from anyone!
Back on topic: I don't put mine away. As long as the roads are relatively dry, I ride. The road salt washes off and the windshield and fairing help when it's below freezing. The term "lake effect snow" was invented here!
Just posting to say I rode today. 29deg this morning, 35deg right now.
Oh, and my wife rode her bike to work, today, too.
Damn, you. Now I need to start getting some real cold weather gear. Damn, you!

When the temperature drops, it seems the bikes just make a whole lot more power. Nothing like a nice spirited ride when it's really cool out to get the juices flowing. It also separates riders from posers.(or is it the fools from the foolish?)
I'm with you there....mid 30's and it just feels much more powerful.
Natural cold air intake?
35 degrees and sunny today so I went for a ride. The only thing I am lacking are good gloves so my hands get very cold.
18°F. Clear and dry. Yup, I ride to work this morning. 8)
just rode in this morning...low 20s. Sure am glad the k1200s is back together.
This thread is gonna make me whip the SV out and go for a ride.
I just dismantled the MB last weekend, so I'm hankering for a good ride myself. Oh well, it's gonna be 10 times awesomer next season...
Took the tracker out for about 80 miles yesterday. Mid 60's and sunny. Yeah.
One of the 3 xr100's i picked up in the spring was stuck. Found i could back the motor up with a strap wrench. Looks like someone swamped it and never got it to re-fire there a rust line in the cyl.
So now is on the bench all torn down.
Cases have been washed by hand and buy dish washer. Inner rotor ign kit has been purchased as was a 120 bigg bore kit with cam and a KZ piston to machine to bump up the comp ratio to the moon.. Head been worked over (real need aftermarket but this is low $$ build) Trying to find two cheap front wheels from gsxr 600's as there 17" x 2 3 spoke mags that i can fit front and rear to get good rubber for flat tracking.
Rode the Ruckus to work yesterday. About 60 degrees on the way in and 45 at 930pm when i went home.
I just did the swap out and put the dirt bikes in front of the street bike. So the R6 is gonna stay parked next to the work bench for a while, and the yz450 is in the middle ready to go play any chance I get.
Summer = street
Winter = dirt
Ran an errand this evening, on the bike. On the return trip, it started snowing. Just light flurries, enough to dust stuff, but not bad enough to make things slippery. By the time I got home, it had stopped.

The RC51 keeps my ass WARM, so I ride pretty often. I made a trip to Brevard, NC for a cup of coffee, lol.
I got out yesterday, running some errands. As I was taking off my helmet, a guy passing by asked, "What's the latest you've ridden?" "I've ridden as late as 11pm" He chuckled, "How late in the year?" "Well, it's Decmeber 31st, so you can't get much later than that." He laughed and wished me a HNY.
Looks like I'm going to miss my NYD ride, this year. It's rain/sleet/snowing right now and the roads are pretty greasy.
Hauled out my Harley Friday to get it ready for a ride on Funeral Procession on Monday.
changed the oil from straight 50 weight to 15-40 and new trans oil drained the marvel out of the carb. turned on the gas and three slow kicker with ign off and two with it on it rumbled to life once again....
