Sorry, I meant there are no dealers south of Akron in the state of Ohio. We have just about every brand of motor vehicle sold in the US represented around Columbus, so it was a surprise that I'd have to drive half way across the state to go see a new Moto Guzzi.
Gotcha. Heck, there aren't many of these dealers anywhere.
I don't have much to add to this Italian conversation but I wouldn't kick that red Ducati Sport Classic out of the garage. Good golly is that a good looking bike!
Have you tried Motohio? They have used Guzzis on occasion.
I love the Guzzi V7 Stone. Shaft drive, easy to adjust valves, air cooled simplicity, fuel injection, and cast wheels meaning tubeless tires.
Guzzi's can have teething pains when new but are generally bulletproof.
Yeah, I have never seen one of the sport classics in person, but every one I see online looks gorgeous.
I end up stopping by at Motohio every couple months (my friend is really interest in the Bonneville), I'll keep an eye out for used V7's. Do you happen to know if they're good about keeping their site up to date as far as their used inventory goes?
skierd: You almost listed verbatim what I told a friend about this bike. FWIW, I have NO interest in a street bike with inner tubes in the year 2013 and adjusting spoke tension ranks up there with mowing the law with nail clippers on the list of tedious things I don't want to do. I'd rather ride than tinker.
I'm not sure how up-to-date their website is. I have actually never been there but I occasionally check out their website and see one or two Guzzis.

new or used?
Used, Motohio does not sell new Moto Guzzi's.

You should check it out sometime, walking into Motohio as a 31-year-old gives me the same feeling I got walking past Victoria's Secret as a 14-year-old. The place is loaded to the gills with gorgeous BMW's, Triumphs, and and Ducatis. It's not far from the Motorcycle Museum either, makes for a nice sprockets-themed Saturday afternoon on the east side.
