I've been looking at dotheton and cafe blogs. I really love the Cafe look, but if I get a cafe bike it will be for short around town trips. I can't imagine going long distances on a bike with clip ons, rear sets and a hard cafe seat. I want something that will get into small places, handle well, be really easy to flick here and there.

I decided that there is no reason for a larger bike (eg xs650) given what I want.

I thought about the CB350 twin... but I'm thinking even smaller than that.

Something like a CL175? (I like that scrambler look with the high mounted exhaust.) Something like this but with the seat mounted lower:

Any bikes you all would suggest I take a peek at?

Hmmm..... You won't get that seat lower unless you cut the frame.

My kid is selling this, going to ask $1000 on C-List. Probably go to $800 but for a friend of the family...

I just picked up a '71 CB175. Pretty much the same bike but without the cool scrambler pipes. I've always liked the older bikes, but somehow I keep ending up with bikes from 1971. Right now my daily rider is a '71 CB750K1, I just got the '71 CB175, and I also have a '71 Yamaha CT175 Enduro and a '71 JT60 Mini-Enduro. I just realized that a couple weeks ago when I got my CB175.

Is that a GS450? Looks real good.

As for the CL175 seat, it looks like it's mounted on aluminum blocks or something.

Yes, GS 450. K&Ns, Liberated pipes, seat etc. Runs well.
