So, the only front swaybar options available for my jeep (JK) are:
- Stock front bar... very limited wheel travel & rough ride off-road.
- Disconnect the front bar... acceptable wheel travel, but adds instability off-road.
Something similar to a currie anti-rock front bar setup would be ideal, but won't fit my stock ride-height jeep. I'm really surprised there isn't a smaller diameter stock-style bar out on the market which allows greater wheel travel! From what I've heard, getting a custom sway-bar would be way over my budget.
Any suggestions?
Run disconnected. The extra articulation is worth it.
This.
Trooper peeps run quick disconnects on our front bars. Shouldn't be too hard to buy/make some for your JK, and should give you the best of both worlds.
Fwiw, a front bar really isn't that helpful off road. Unless you're rally crossing, it's just as likely to tip you over as it is to keep you level.
I'll echo what has been said previously. I have a small franken-lift on my JK. I can get an OK amount of flex but its so easy to just disconnect the FSB. The bolts are 18mm. A lot of people just ziptie the swaybar up and out of the way.
You can also drill out the stock bolts to accept a clevis pin so you can just pull the pin to disconnect it.
The rear swaybar is small it doesn't really inhibit flex. You can also just remove it.
Do you have any pictures of your JK?
