for the kinda price of one.. i have read and heard that tune ups dont really make that big of gains.. i have a 96 grand caravan and it get 18 to 19 mpg. are tune ups still worth spending.. im talking all out.. plugs wires filters and what not.. second question.. trans service.. power flush or just drain and fill?

The point of a tune up is not to make gains, it's to prevent degradation.

And really, you can't spare the $12 and 15 minutes it will take you to replace a set of spark plugs?

It's a Caravan, it will take longer then 15 min to swap 6 plugs out for properly gapped OE replacements. BTDT.

Depends on the transmission mileage to service or not. Because of age, you may NOT want to know what is in the bottom of the pan.

barnca do it yourself. champion copper plugs. sposed to be done every 15 to 30k. its pretty easy.... if wiper cowl is why your not doing.... its take 5 minutes to take the whole wiper cowl off. like 10 bolts. also make sure the throttle is clean.... and what can really help if its the 3.3 or 3.8 is a spacer for the throttle.... ive heard reports of 2 to 3 mpg just because of how much lower it moves the powerband on those motors... ive never owned one so i dont know. and power flush if its not overly burnt..... my advice is mobil one multivehicle atf with a bottle of lubegaurd platinum. never seen a chrysler tranny blow when doing that. even held together my shadows tranny that i beat the hell out of.

I thought a guy like you would know not to ask a question like that.....

Yes you should buy all that stuff.Nowadays if you can squeeze an extra 2-3 mpg out of something it's definitely worth it.IMO.
