I love my 2016 Buick Regal AWD Premium II, it does everything I need it to do. It's only at 37K miles.
But, the low seat height makes ingress/ egress harder with my current physical issues. I may need a higher seat height.
Quick look at crossovers on Auto Trader and I like the looks of the Cadillac XT4 and XT5. Features and options too. 2L Turbo, 9 speed auto, AWD.
Anything to be wary of?
I may not move on this until spring, so plenty of time.

Evaporative emissions purge pumps will go bad, like every modern GM turbo motor currently. Does t hurt anything, but they set a CEL and they're constantly backorder
The new GM 2.0T is also extremely bad about head gaskets leaking oil externally at very low miles. I'm about to tear into a CT4 with the dame engine that is vomiting oil at 12k miles, and they're a bastard and a half to work on. Really weird engineering choices, like the camshaft bolting into the bottom of the valve cover and then being set down on the cam followers. So a valve cover leak requires breaking the timing.
GM moved away from thermostats and towards their wacky coolant control valves, with about 15 coolant hoses attached. Known to fail and they require tearing the front of the car off. They won't set a CEL and they'll be fine at lower speeds but you get over 55mph for a couple miles and they overheat.
The XT5 will need rear toe links at 30-40k miles and an alignment. It's a guarantee.
And GM infotainment systems absolutely suck. No matter how many parts are replaced or updates are performed, it will still freeze up and do all sorts of wacky E36 M3 that the tech will never be able to duplicate
Thanks.
I'll keep my trouble free 2016 Regal for now.
In this world of shared vehicle platforms...is there a shared SUV in the Regal platform that could lend its struts to the Regal resulting in a Regal with a raised ride height and therefore a raised egress height?
