...to make the top 10 on the leaderboard.

That's a lot of words. I can remember wondering how people could make 30k posts on a message board and thinking they should get a life. Yet here we are. 

For 15 years, and 4 months y'all have been putting up with my sometimes inane and frequently useless comments. 

I should probably apologize.

TIL there's a leaderboard for posts and I'm on page 6. I don't think I'll ever reach page 1 though whew.

Old leaderboard didn't transfer, from my understanding. I've only been here 8 years though.

Nope. Curmudgeon sucked me into here in 2008 and I joined in Jan. 2009. 

Hard to believe I've been here over 20 years.

Whenever I saw somebody on a forum with post numbers as high as 10,000 I'd think, wow, those people really need to get a life.

I'll see if I can make it to 12,000 by the end of the day

The worst part of the leaderboard for me is that I know my 35,000 posts are just on the new leaderboard.  I had over 30,000 additional posts on the old leaderboard that didn't transfer. 
 

It's embarrassing.

It reminds of the guy at work showing me his black, aluminum Hilton Hotel status card for reaching the top points goal 10 years in a row.

This morning I discovered the sign near my office reverts to blinking "TOO FAST" at some speed rather than display a number to discourage such shenanigans.

A colleague spent so much time at one of the local hostelries they sent him a framed piece of carpet when they did a major refurbish.

I'm top 30.... only 9k more to make top 10 I guess.

I don't participate as much as the first couple years. 
since I don't tow the party line, the folks that have insulted and cussed at me, have been allowed to. 
I now try to only reply to 100% car stuff, so I'll never get high numbers. 
Don't always succeed, but I do TRY

I do this fairly frequently on one of our bike rides. My high score is 24mph so far. The speed limit is 25, so I'm still legal. 

I can't find my position in my phone, but I am still behind a guy that died several years.  I don't post nearly as much as I once did, since I am now retired.  In my defense I lost a chunk of my tally in a web snafu.  
 

found it 13,624.  I am embarrassed.

Same with me and rx7club.  There was a hack in 2001 that required a full system restart, so my account was "made" in May 2001.  I was 23.
