Yeah, I'm OK with this. The Camaro, as much as many of us prefer the Mustang for it's look and weight, has shown itself to be surprisingly fast.

stop playing ignorant... it's for the Z/28- Chevy's stripped down badass version of the Camaro. it's got less power than a ZL1, but is faster.. it's the car everyone says they want- no AC, no radio (well, it has one- but it's only there to operate the mandatory door chime thru it's single speaker), carbon-ceramic brakes, lightweight wheels, killer shocks, sticky tires that are only barely just street legal, minimal sound deadener, etc... you can order AC and a radio as add on options for something like $1000, but why would you?

try to duplicate what this car is capable of for less money..

i was with you until that last sentenance. duplicating that for less $$$ grassroots style would be pretty easy. ill bet for half that i could make that worthless camaro look stupid, and do it with cold A/C, 8 speaker Bose stereo, and half a dozen other amenities that arent really worth removing, but car makers do it for PR.

Get the ZL1 Camaro. Strip off the extra weight. Then Sell off what you don't want to keep. Then apply it to the budget..

have at it... i'm sure GM would love to see what you come up with, especially if it passes all the crash, emissions, NVH, and durability tests that GM had to build their car to conform to..

exactly.. what you and I could come up with would never pass GM's quality control. We are talking about a stripped and ready road/race (mostly race) machine straight from the factory floor.

No fabrication to mount bigger brakes, no trying to figure out how to remove the radio without upsetting the computer, everything is done for you. It is a take it off of the trailer and put it on the track car with none of the "is this going to work?" moments

I wish they would open those slots in front of the rear wheel and make them functional brake ducts. That would be kinda cool.

How much weight can a radio delete save? 3 lbs? That's 0.1% weight reduction, woo.

I want to say they eliminated about 250#. Which still makes it a 3400# without a driver pig.

It's not a sports car.

It's a muscle car that can turn and stop.

So a 0.088% reduction.

GTR---- 3800 lbs, but the most awesome video game-- I mean...car EVAR!

2014 Z28--- 3400 lbs but is a bloated pig and a POS

I'm sensing a bit of prejudice here.......

See the smog era thread. They don't have to be fat to look fat. I doubt they've done anything to correct the questionable ergonomics, and they certainly have corrected the less than ideal view over the dash. And I really like this car.
