What is reasonable to ask for 7•62 by 39 ? I've got 2 boxes of UMC and about 300 of the old good stuff and no peashooter that uses it...

Right now? I hear you cant find ammo anywhere in the states (one guy at work claimed "Obama had ordered ammunition manufacturing stopped" and offered the empty shelves as proof).
I'd ask about $10k.
It's going for about a quarter a pop on Sportsmans Guide:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/browse/ammo-rifle-762x39-ammo.aspx?c=96&s=953&stk=1&d=121
Out of stock, but expected in within a month. I've seen it from Tulammo intermittently at Wally World. A premium for instant gratification, premium for UMC (brass case, boxer primed? 100% premium, I would think).

I had no idea what you were talking about until I saw the word "peashooter." So I guess it's some kind of ammo...carry on.
I'd hold out for more. I'd imagine there are tin-foil types who would prefer to buy ammo for cash from a non-retail source. How to get the word out, I wouldn't know.
Look at gunbroker to see what it's going for. I just sold 200 rounds of Winchester 115 gr 9mm for 140 bucks shipped (.70/rd). I paid around 47 bucks for it not 2 months ago(.235/rd).
That said, 7.62 is a bit more plentiful than .223 and 9mm, but I'd say .50-.60/rd is a good start.
Edit: looks like some I it is going for close to a buck a round, so if you use GB, start at 1c, set your reserve around 80-90c per round, and a BIN at like 1.25/rd and see what happens.

I thought it was going to be a discussion of the movie Full Metal Jacket, and I came in to tell the OP he forgot the "millimeter".

They do, there's just more paperwork. In fact I have half the paperwork already, was thinking about buying a paintball gun which requires the same paperwork.
