Weather service just declared this a blizzard here in RI. It's pretty much white-out conditions. Even thunder and lightning, which they say means intensifying low pressure. Seems to be around 6-8" already on the ground at 1:00 pm, and it's supposed to continue until tonight, and then the temperature will drop into the low teens. Yikes. But that's OK. Annie and I will be on a plane heading to south Florida next Wednesday. It'll be in the eighties there.
I am at work and just about to head out back home snow is coming down now at a good clip but not an issue having my truck "TRex" (my daughter named it that)
We have more than 1' here as of 11:30 AM in SW CT. It's pretty heavy stuff, as well. It came down pretty quick, we had about 2" at 8 AM this morning. Still coming down, but seems to have fizzled a bit. I was thankful for my snowblower (and the fact that it's running) today
Still falling in West Haven. I think there's about a foot or so on the deck. No shoveling for me in this condo setup I'm renting in. Coworkers moving faster than me brought down the VPN server that lets people log in from home. Not entirely happy about that as I'd like to get some work done and not get told I have to burn a day of vacation over this.
Otherwise things are great.
It was 63 here in the Poconos yesterday and I have 8 inches of snow on my driveway.
Weather is weird.

Just heard that I-95 in southern RI is blocked/closed due to several tractor trailer trucks stuck in the snow.
Snow coming down at 2-4" per hour. Plows can't keep up.
And 20,000 people have lost electricity in RI so far.
I wish we got some of that in Ohio, less than 1" here in Columbus.
We officially have a Thunderblizzard here!!! There has been a decent amount of thunder and lightning with this storm. Snow is falling at a stupidly fast rate.
BTW, I want to start a band called Thunderblizzard.
Thunderblizzard is a pretty solid band name.
Wife is about to venture out and attempt the snowblower. Wish her luck!
I first read that as Thunderbuzzard
good band name too

Yup, we had t shirt weather here yesterday, probably mid 60s high temp. Today, 4-5" of snow and wind chills are probably low teens at the moment. Very strange winter.

wind knocked a tractor Trailer off of the Bay Bridge Tunnel into the mouth of the Chesapeake today. I heard the driver didn't make it
18 inches. Thats cute. We got almost 36 inches over the last few days. Then an ice storm. Lightweights.

That sounds fun. Wouldn't be unheard of, around here. This is just the first big one of the year so people (like me) are less than prepared.

Me too, this brings our total snowfall this winter to 4". Pathetic.
hope you all stay safe, I lost power for 2 days once in MA due to snow.
Now in WI I borrowed a ridiculously oversized snowblower for the winter, and only used it once to blow a few inches.

I just finished snow-blowing my driveway. Around 14" of very heavy, compacted snow really taxed the blower. Annie had a beer ready for me when I came in. Bless her heart.
Just another storm. Nabors and I tag team our driveways. We all have decent snowblowers then go and take care of a couple elderly nabors. We all then return and cracked open a bottle of 18 year old single malt. (my turn to provide the refreshments). We then hang out and talk for a while. Kind of a tradition of sorts. I have great nabors and we look forward to snow.

Nice! I'd like to live in your neighborhood.
Looks like another 1-2 feet will be here Sunday night into Monday
Better stock up on beverage's
Meanwhile in Ohio, 60 degrees and no snow.
Spent the day working on the snowblower, oh joy!
First, I checked out the governor situation. When I installed the carb a couple years back, I guess I didn't set it up at all! Then, I replaced the fuel feed from the tank to the carb, because it was leaking at the carb fuel inlet. While doing that, I noticed the starter was loose. I tightened that up too.
With the governor set and the new fuel line, it seemed to run A LOT better. The snow today was heavy and wet, and it ripped through it. It still pops a little even after finding the sweet spot in the air/fuel mix, but it is a big improvement. The throttle bracket is all sorts of berked, so it gets full throttle all the time for now.
Onto the next blizzard...
We got 12" Thursday, and inch yesterday and it just started again. We should get another 6-8 today.
we had 6-8 inches Wednesday to Friday. It's completely gone now. It was strange watching the snow melt at 430am yesterday, no sun yet, but warmed up enough to get it started. It has been raining all night though, so what little was left is now gone, and I have a pond in my driveway where there used to be puddles.
i really want a good foot or so of snow before winter ends. Ohio winter has been all rain!
