Well I hit it with every shot so that might have had something to do with it. The rifle shows it's age and you know how kids are these days about something that isn't flashy.
Even funnier was the same shot with my 10/22. Some guys had brought their big magnums and were poking fun that I was only shooting a .22. They couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 100 yards with them. Before my first shot hit the gong I had already sent the second. I fired five times and everyone hit the mark at 300. They looked at me, looked at each other then packed their gear and left. With that rifle I could drop it into the hands of someone that never fired one before tell them exactly where to hold over and 8 out of 10 will hit the target first try.

Sounds like my Mossberg 44US(b). It's a bolt action .22 that hits whatever you point it at. Hell, the barrel is almost as thick as my mossberg 500 full choke!

Yeah but I figure that is what I have my FN sniper rifle for. It is built on a modern copy of the pre 64 Winchester model 70 action with a 24" fluted heavy barrel, the action is bedded in an aluminum frame in the stock, chambered in .308 and topped with Bushnell Elite 3200 10x scope. Then beyond that is the Savage 110 custom chambered in .300 Win Mag, with a 26" stainless Shillen bull barrel that I am having a new stock made for and will be topped with one of my nice Vortex scopes.

They think. Even though there were six Confederate soldiers that claimed the "kill" at the time. Sounds like a "volley" to me. But what do I know. I wasn't there to watch it.

If it was a volley why were people dodging bullets at different times as according to several accounts. All bullets would have arrived at the same time.
Dude.. you are out of your knowledge base and only arguing because you want to...
Just above you were calling a rifle a musket and mentioning open sights.. Yawn.... Musket.. HA!

Yeah! I remember reading about a 14-15 year old enlisted into the Marines and went into combat for the first time at Tarawa!
