Happened on my way to pick up my kid. Best I can tell is that something was kicked up by the semi I was passing.
As annoying as it is, I'm glad it was just the tiny window on the passenger side.

Oh that sucks. I got a rock chip on I-4 earlier this year. Early on a Sunday with very few cars around.
Just today I drove to ORL - something I do a couple of times a year for work. I typically avoid I-4 by going down to 407/528. When 4 is good, it's still a few minutes faster but 4 is often not good - especially at rush hour. This afternoon just as I was about to get on 528 west from 407 I saw the overhead sign warning that all lanes were blocked and to find an alternate route. I had just enough time to jump off onto 528 east and take that down to Nova road to make my way to my destination. It was a ~25 minute detour but a nice empty road. 4 would have been faster. :)
When coming back to Daytona from ZCON in Tampa on Friday, Paris and I debated taking something other than I-4. The reality is that it was getting late, so sticking to the interstate just seemed easier. Once we got to the Express lanes, things started moving.
I'm sure I-4 is bad, but IMO all urban interstates are dangerous places, often due to people failing to secure their load. My wife recently had a scary incident where she and several other drivers struck an 8' 2x4 laying in the road. Cost her two tires and a wheel and a fair bit of time. I'm grateful that it wasn't much worse.
I've seen everything from extension ladders, to lumber, to bouncing hammers in the travel lanes on the interstate.

One year I was driving to or from the Challenge and I had to dodge something about the size of a double bed mattress on an unlit SC turnpike at night. There was some luck involved in having enough space around me to swerve away from it and not hit anyone else.

Being about 10-15 miles north of I4 and I75, the last time two times I went to New Syrmna BeacGoogle maps had me go 50 to 44 and I think 429 and finally to I4. It was slower, but at least relaxing.

I don't know how you all don't go insane driving I-4 every day.
