Today was the Grand opening of Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Ithaca. I had gone after work and cool cars where out in force. Here goes, Jag XJS 'Vert V12, 964 or 993 Carrera 4S, P71(active duty B&W), Saturn Sky, and a 1st gen Camaro SS 'Vert, white and orange Indy Pace car color combo (but no Pace car logo on the side).
As for the food, absolutly worth the "out the door" line and $10 I had spent.
Five Guys is the best fast food burger I have ever had IMO. Unfortunately I haven't seen any cool cars at the ones around here.

Yeah, +1 on Five Guys. There's a distinct lack of cool cars there at lunchtime though (my car excluded )
how ironic, I had 5 guys burger and fries for lunch today as well.
excellent as always!
I've been talking up Five Guys for over a year since I found the place. Best burgers and fries anywhere. No cool cars at mine (or the one by my parents' house when I visit). The one near me used to play classic rock all the time, but now they've switched to some weirdo lounge music.
I have never even heard of this chain, must try, nearest outlet search imminent

You really have to.
Everything is large sized. A regular burger has two patties. A "Little Cheeseburger" is a normal sized one. A regular fries is a cup full plus one scoop that goes into the bag. They call it fast food, but it's really more like cookout-grade. No weird mystery burgers like the "others," and no frou-frou "gourmet" burgers like Red Robin. Just a real burger.
Bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, fries and a Coke. Enough to turn a E36 M3ty day into a damn good one
Nearest one is in Toledo, and I do go by the address fairly often.
Bacon cheeseburger, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, green peppers, little mayo, lettuce, and jalapenos sometimes. I usually get cajun fries but the original ones are great as well.
And of course peanuts while I wait.
I commute to Winchester VA to go to my college classes and I've driven by '5 guy's' hundreds of times, where I've been eating at the new Sonic and Checkers has just been opened, I was psyched to try them.
But given your reccomendations I'll stop into the 'ole 5 guys and give them a shot tomorrow.
Sonic's burgers are ok. I don't go to the one near me anymore. Their ice cream machine is ALWAYS broken, same goes for their icee machine. The food takes more than 20 minutes to make it out the door and into your car and when it does, they forget major things. Like drinks. Or sides. Or that a chicken sandwich should have chicken in it. And when you correct them, they'll bring some of the missing food back to you, where you have to correct them again. I don't think they've ever only taken one trip to my Jeep. My record is six times. And they get really pissed about it.
Checkers is good. I consider that a regular fast food place, like McDonalds or Burger King, just much better. 5 Guys is a whole step above those, though
Checkers always seems really skeazy and greasy, but I guess that's what I'm going there for so it's not bothersome. I have been to Five Guys once, and I remember it being pretty good. A huge quantity of fries for a "regular."

Hmmm, this Sonic is brand new this year, and I think some of the employees are fellow students, so that helps. I only sent the carhop back once and that's because she had ran out of ketchup and had no problem going back for more.
Still though, despite how cute they are I'm always disappointed they're not wearing short skirts and rollerblades.
Ooooh I used to live in Ithaca. Five Guys def rocks. We have a few out here, and if you ever make it out to Ann Arbor for some random ass reason, check out Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger. It's not a chain, there's one and only one, and it's fantastic.
Our Sonic was opened with great fanfare a couple of years ago directly across the road from both the trash dump and the poop farm.
No matter what they do I do not want to eat in my car, outside, across the road from the entire city's recycled last month of food.....no way, no how

I have spent many, many hours in all the fast food joints in Florida. Working on camera systems all over the stores. Seen enough that I will only eat at a Wendy's.. They seem to be the cleanest. Some of the others are really bad. Depends on the store manager, of course, but still.....
I got take-out from Fifve Guys for work one day, and no one would believe me that they wouldn't need an entire fry order each. So, I had orers for 6 fries. Didn't even order any myself, but took an order's worth out of the bag. More than half were left over when everyone was done. The wife and I will go and split a cheeseburger and regular fries, and both be full.
And I just remembered that there was also an E30 M3 last night, how could I forget one of the trinity? And I will be back on wensday with a friend, after I work on his car. His treat.
