AC and DC never worked well together anyway. DC needed an inverter to simulate AC, and AC needed a rectified diode array to become DC.
But somehow I'm hungry for an Angus steak right now.

LOL

Thank You.
Can't say I care, unless that also means that I'll never hear one of their, uh, songs again. In that case I'd be incredibly happy.

Offhand internet comments aside... the rumor is that one of the band members has a terminal illness. This can, in some way, make you happy?

Going by the title of the thread, one could easily believe that they are simply splitting up.

Well aren't you just a ray of berkeleying sunshine. Don't worry Bieber is still making music, you'll be set for decades still.

Boom. Roasted.

Damn... and people accuse me of making callous statements.
You DO realize that if the band stops, the music will probably get played MORE?
Regardless, it sucks to hear, but not really unexpected. Malcolm has been ill off and on for a few years now. And I get the feeling that while Johnson still enjoys performing, he wouldn't mind retiring to his vintage race cars.
If Malcolm wrote "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" his genius rivals that of any songwriter of his era. I have adopted that as my theme song .
Unfortunately I've heard from an inside source that this is true. They are not splitting up in the traditional sense. Malcom is ill, and has been for quite a while now. He is no longer able to tour, and at this point, he may not be able to play anymore. It's sad, as otherwise they would keep on doing their thing, as they have for 40 years now.
Regardless if you enjoy their music, AC/DC will go down as one of the best Rock and Roll bands of all time. I know much of my mis-spent youth was spent with them on the dial.....turned up to eleven.
They put on a great show, entertained millions of people, and never claimed to be anything they weren't. They were a straightforward rock and roll band---- that never gave into the temptation of making a crappy ballad. They did their thing, kicked ass, and made a ridiculous amount of money.
It's also basically impossible to not like Brian Johnson if you ever get a chance to meet him. He's incredibly friendly, approachable, and a laugh riot! I'm a huge Bon Scott fan, but you have to give Brian his due--- when he replaced Bon and they created Back in Black, it was the most seemless transition of a singer change I've ever seen.
AC/DC will always have a place in my music library.
I can cue up Whole Lotta Rosie anytime I want and it sounds just like them when they were awesome thanks to the miracle of media storage - no need for them to keep banging on it if they are tired. I'm totally fine with them retiring and chillin' in the paddock or by the pool. They haven't made anything I was interested in hearing since Back in Black in 1980 anyway. I wasn't waiting with bells on for the next big single.

Pullin’ weeds, get the roots down deep….Roundup….Turfix…Kiwicare….pullin’ weeds, get the roots down deep
I don't mind AC/DC, but I do get tired of hearing them all the time. I would probably err on the side of never listening to another song by them if I had the choice.
As has been said, they are good classic rock. NOT THE BEST, but good.
Sucks to hear he is ill though. As GPS pointed out though, better to not fade away.
In reply to Joe Gearin: Please tell your inside source our thoughts and well wishes are with Malcolm and the rest of his crew. My kids were all born in the 90's but are well aware that AC DC rocks hard. They have an enduring legacy
