The tractor trailer flip from the Dark Knight. On my projector in 1080p it looks amazing.

The tracking shot up the hill in The Thin Red Line.

Hill is covered in long grass, a slight wind is blowing. As the shot goes up the hill the sun comes out from behind the clouds, quite dramatic.

Not the shot, but same hill:

Also a fan of a lot of Ridley Scott's "smokey" work:

Can't test this link, hopefully it works: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiuAI-GuOOc

Mad Max, when the Nightrider's Monaro bounces sideways prior to impact.

Always seemed more realistic than most.

Also Bullit's axle hop

Also, about 92 percent of The Dark Knight Rises

That shot always gets me. It's so full of stuff, and looks real for the few seconds it's on the screen. Saw it first at the Kentucky in Lexington, KY years ago.

I like the opening credits for Moonrunners

"The next time you see the moon out, ain't everybody asleep. Some folks are working ..."

A still doesn't do it. Needs motion.

1:13.

I will have to add the Goose's last ride. It was very well shot and cut.

And the freeway part of the chase scene from Gone in 60 Seconds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XTlkX3OSu4

Starts around 4:00. There's just something so serene about hauling ass down the highway, nothing can keep up, the 351C pulling sweetly... and then he passes the '70 Camaro

the Exorcists ... don't remember the actual scene ... ( I was a young teenager ... i.e. a long time ago ) but when the window .. plate glass I guess ... comes sliding down a ramp and slices the head off of .. someone (don't remember who ) for me that was the start of "real" special effects

And the other really powerful scene I like was when Prof. X and Magneto (Charles/Erik) are talking in the hallway but I can't for the life of me find a clip of it!

Magneto: [pointing to his head] Are you sneaking around in here, Charles? Whatever are you looking for?

Prof. Charles Francis Xavier: I'm looking for hope.

Magneto: I will bring you hope, old friend, and I ask only one thing in return - don't get in my way.

Not a great movie, but those two scenes always give me chills :P
