So the DRM thing isn't cut and dry just as expected. Sony is only not doing the DRM stuff for first party titles, anything else is up to the third party, which is no different than what Microsoft is doing.
Saw on another forum and is all but confirmed. So basically, the guys who make our lives hell anyways (read: EA and Activision) still have a perfect kick to the nuts lined up on any system.
They thought modded systems were popular in the xbox/ps2 age. Watch me now! (guaranteed there will be a way to mod a xbox one so there is no call home and installed games work).

The next gen console debate came up at her workplace last week, and surprisingly enough in an all-female environment, nearly all of them were planning on purchasing a system for their kids, SO, or themselves either at launch or for the holidays.
After asking which I'd prefer, I finally decided on the Xbox. I want the PS4 too, but I really want Forza 5, and the other few launch games are available on either system.
She really wanted to spring for the Ariel Atom experience at VIR, but we can do the Xbox for less and she can enjoy it as well. She's more excited about the TV stuff the XB1 is offering.

Well EA stopped their policy of doing this a while ago.
The people's butthurt towards this issue pretty much ends it whenever a company, aside from Ubisoft, tries to implement idiotic DRM.
This is why I play PC games, if a game has intrusive or idiotic DRM you just crack it.
looking at the side-by-side specs vs the PS4, and the fact that the PS4 will be $100 less, and that Microsoft is looking at the possibility of not launching it in Japan...
I get the impression Sony is about to do to MS Xbox what it did to Sega starting with the Saturn. Lots of Parallels to that launch.
the next step in extreme DRM is what simcity does: server side processing only... which is exactly what Google and MS want for all software, not just games.

Yeah they completely debunked it, you CAN play used games you just have to pay a fee to us equal to the price of a new game.

What I don't get is Gates is a hacker and thief himself. Why didn't he step in and say whoaaa? I know when you are the person getting taken as opposed to the taker you position changes but come on. He had to know with everything going on the used games and big brother points would cause problems.
