Signed my life away for my next travel nurse contract today.
Basically it's close to the 4 corners and not much else. It's 3hrs away from Albuquerque, 6hrs to Denver or Grand Junction, 7.5 to Phoenix via the back road...
Anyone?

Saturday morning 9am-noon New Mexico time is Four Corners car talk on KDGO radio,
real good show about the local car scene by 2 guys that have the local Nissan dealer.
Good Luck
PS , the show is streamed on the net.....
My good friend lives there. She used to be a nurse, go figure.
She's Navajo, pretty much everyone there is. I don't know whats your ethnicity or what-not, but try to not to be socially inept lol. I really don't know how to word that.
There's some beautiful country near there. Great offroading, both high mountain and desert. Some whitewater in the area too.
You're about 3 hours from lake Powell. Rent a pwc and kill a weekend. Might still be a bit chilly though. How long is the contract?
Great Mountainbiking in Farmington. Durango is more of the same(I'd go so far as to say a mountain bi,king mecca) plus a little culture. Ouray and Silverton would be great weekend trips. Same with Telluride.
Mesa Verde is great. Chaco Canyon, too. 550 North of Silverton is among the best drives in the world IMO.

It ends June 12. Just in time for Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0 to start in the same general area....
The wife lived there for 18 months teaching in the Navajo reservation. Pretty country but not much else. I wouldn't mind living there
Durango claims to have invented mountain biking, I believe. As does Crested Butte and Mt Tam. Whatever, it's a good place to be if you like outside.
When you get there, do a weekend loop up 550 to Montrose. Make sure to stop at Mouse's Chocolates in Ouray for, well...anyhow. Turn right until you're past Blue Mesa, then run down 149 through Lake City to South Fork. Another right and follow 160 through Pagosa Springs to Durango, then back to Farmington. Spend the night somewhere, maybe Lake City.

Offroaders can take a shortcut from Ouray to Lake City via Engineer Pass. But not in March.

Oh you'll be there when it gets warm. May, early June, good lake weather.
or if you want to get a little farther west I can provide a weekends worth of shenanigans.
I've always wanted to go out that way to find an old Model A body. If you see one out in no where and it's like GRM cheap (read throw it in the bed of the pickup and run) let me know. I'll come out and visit to pick it up. I'll even supply the whiskey.

YUP you nailed it bro....
The SCCA and PCA regions in Albuquerque occasionally have autocrosses there in a big casino parking lot east of town. As others have said, close to spectacular mountain scenery in the San Juan mountains in Colorado. Other nearby scenic areas are Chaco Canyon and the Bisti Badlands. IIRC the SCCA is the Rio Grande Region. I seem to remember a pretty good microbrewery, but that was several years ago. Good trading posts in the area at Shiprock, and definitely at Toadlena south of Shiprock. It's the real deal, and they have an amazing display of Two Grey Hills rugs! If you like Navajo weaving, Toadlena is a must-see. It's in the middle of nowhere and doesn't look like much but it's the real deal.
