It's got full RGB on each key and there's a little squawker in there. I've got loads of space to store a battery, that wouldn't be that big a deal I don't think. Gotta look to see if the board has a power input other than the USB.
Videos from development!
Here's the "Echo" game. You start by choosing a length. It plays a random sequence of that length and you have to play it back. Then you get scored.
Because it's similar but different, I also programmed in Simon. Merlin lights up one key, you press it. It adds one to the sequence, you play it back. It keeps going until you screw up and then you get a score. Psychologically it's quite different from Echo as the stakes are always being raised. I can display scores of up to 49 (I think), which is more than enough.
Music Machine, aka the sequencer. A full octave plus a a fourth down and a fifth up and a rest. You enter a tune and it plays it back. I added the tempo control because I can, and because I liked it I also implemented the tempo on Echo and Simon so you can make it really hard :)
I haven't done blackjack yet, that's next. I should do tic-tac-toe as well but it's a really boring thing to program. I'm also still working on the color schemes.
It's funny, I don't remember the membrane keys specifically. But I notice that the reissue has traditional buttons. Also, Eric dredged up this alternate universe unit from Japan. Meet Dr Smith.
