OK, I've got your typical 1/2 hp liftmast system. Suddenly when I try to use the remotes I get two flashes from the unit and it doesn't open or close. The book says the safety sensors are misaligned, but that's not the case (both the amber (send) and green (receive) lights are on indicating good alignment) Also the button inside the garage open and closes it correctly.
Any ideas? The liftmaster FAQ is typically useless.
Try a new battery in one of the remotes?
Both go out on the same day at the some time?
I can hold the remote touching the unit and it has the same result. Two flashes from the unit so it is receiving something. Its two lithium ion batteries that I'll have to get.
Quick facts:
If you press and hold the wired indoor master controller it will bypass the sensors.
Sun shining into one of them will confuse it. Make little cones with E36 M3 paper rolls.
Spider webs are obstructions.
Sometimes it just loses it's mind and you have to reprogram the whole thing but before you do, unplug it for a few minutes, then try again. Sometimes it needs a reboot. No explanation.

Sounds like you or someone locked the remotes out, it is a feature. Is the light on the wall button blinking? If so push the lock button on the wall pad until the button light is solid.

Oh! Right, I forgot about that... the master can lock out all the others. DOH!

Mine was this, although my kids touched the lock button once and it kept me in circles for awhile trying to figure what was going on.
GRM comes to the rescue again. It was the lock button.
Thanks guys
