No keys! I'm not sure if you need keys for where you are headed but if I seem to remember reading that Audi keys (w/o a key to replicate) is very expensive. Like $400 expensive.
Even though, being a full car, this could go high priced.
My only advice is to be sure you understand the FEES and understand the timeline in which it needs to be paid in full and removed from the lot before other FEES come in.
i need the transaxle, clutch kit, clutch hydraulics, pedals, and front halfshafts. the rest of it gets parted out. IDGAF if it runs, i'll make my money back on the front clip and some interior bits.
this car went through the auction last week, either didn't meet reserve or high bidder didn't complete sale. I assume reserve not met because it was immediately relisted. with standard fees (ie no late fees) a $500 winning bid would cost me $882. i don't think i'd go any higher than that, so probably wouldn't win.
dangit, i forgot that i'm out of town next week, so i'd already be into late fees before i could pick up. i'm going to take a deep breath and keep searching...
thank you to all who volunteered to enable. one of these days...
A4 manual in Flint at IAA: https://www.iaai.com/Vehicle?itemID=31739095&RowNumber=9&loadRecent=True
Here's an overpriced example at $2,200 over near Youngstown, OH
$2.2k seem high for 190k miles and body damage. I'm guessing obo is not bringing really good offers.
In reply to John Welsh :
thanks for that! i'm currently watching that car plus six others that aren't too far away. unfortunately, none of them have auction dates assigned.
I'm not entirely sure this is what you're looking for, but I followed the "FInd Parts now - over 15 million parts in stock" button from the 1st Audi/IaaI link John posted, and it showed several manual trans from a 2.0t AWD in the ~$150 range. I know that doesn't cover the other parts you need, but they might have those as well. Could be an interesting rabbit hole that would let you skip the whole-car route.
In reply to classicJackets :
dang, see what i mean about those transaxles being butt-cheap?! i prefer the whole car approach because it gives me stuff to recoup into the real life budget, and stuff to "comparable FMV self-trade".
In reply to AngryCorvair :
So were you the $450 Texas that won or were you the $425 Michigan that lost? Neither?
On Approval usually means that the bidding did not reach the hidden reserve. The insurance company may come back with a counter offer or the car may just go back on the block next week.
I play IAA but not Copart and $450 with fees at IAA for me, as a non-dealer comes out to $698
