I work in a cube farm inside a steel building so I only get two radio stations.
One station loosely defined as light rock or soft something just started with CHRISTMAS SONGS!!!
24/7 until Christmas.
Yes. I'm a Scrooge.

i'd rather listen to nothing. nothing at all.
or crying babies, metal forming power hammers, shrieking angry mothers, whining teenagers, you name it.
i hate christmas music.

I have Sirius streaming to my desk right now. Even if I could get an FM station there aren't any here worth listening to.
I think 3 local FM stations go all "holiday" on 11/1
...but there are people who think Sirius is stupid.
Went to the mall yesterday, only to find it full of little trick-or-treaters whose parents prefer the homogenized, well-lit experience of mall begging--so I was treated to several views of throngs of costumed characters filing past fully decorated Christmas trees and garland-draped storefronts. It was just... wrong.

I constanly gripe that for a city the size of Atlanta the radio stations suck ass. Of course there is Pandora but the web Gestapo at work has it blocked along with others. I can on Saturdays hack into a neighbouring office wi-fi and listen on my I-phone if I lay it on my bench just right. Move it a few degrees and it goes away.
I worked at Pier One Imports in high school. Our store had a Kenny Rogers and Dolly Pardon Christmas CD, and "Winter" by George Winston. They played in continuous rotation for two months. To this day, if I hear either I get an involuntary twitch and the urge to murder a futon.
I feel the same way about Feliz Navidad. The Spanish classes in high school would take to caroling en espanol for the holidays, and of course, the only song any of the classes could be bothered to learn was... Feliz Navidad. Imagine 2 dozen not awake white suburban MN teenagers trying to hack their way through a spanish Xmas song, at like 7:45 am. I tried to get in school suspension for that season.
You are all attacking Christmas, you anti-American commies...
Oh- for the Sirius/XM subscribers- when does the all Chirstmas station start? IIRC, it's channel 3 for Sirius.

I love Christmas and Christmas songs.
But Christmas music 24/7 for 2 months?? There aren't that many good Christmas songs.
And Christmas decorations should never make an appearance before Thanksgiving...

Sirius 3 is Neil Diamond Radio through tomorrow. Goes back to love tunes on Wed. They might hold out until Black Friday.
When Black Friday comes, I'll stand down by the door, and catch the grey men when they dive from the 14th floor.
In my foyer, down comes the huge pumpkin and up goes the Christmas tree. Why mess with Thanksgiving? It is a huge letdown. If turkey and cranberry crud is so good, why don't people eat it all year long?
My horror of Christmas songs is easy to discover. I worked two years in a Mall's Food Court, where all we had starting in November was one CD of Christmas songs. I cannot hear one "Little Drummer Boy" without flashing back to Na... I mean the mall.
I like that Christmas song by the Waitresses and One Christmas Catalogue by Captain Sensible. Oh, and I like some of the South Park Christmas songs. That is about it.
I like Christmas songs if you can find the right ones, and COMPLETELY AVOID THEM UNTIL WINTER BREAK STARTS. I have 42 more days.
Yes, strangly, the Waitresses song has become popular in the last few years. Interesting is that the song is like 30 yrs old.

^^ This. I will admit I love Christmas and the songs that go with it. And Christmas Wrappings from the Waitresses has long been one of my favorites. But don't talk to me about anything Christmas before Thanksgiving. Every year, I b!tch to my wife that it should be made freakin' illegal to have stores putting out their holiday stuff before Thanksgiving. And to me...Christmas is over at 12:01am on Dec. 26th. I'm ready to take my tree down then, but the wife makes me keep it until New Years....
Is it wrong that I started to put up my train set?
Best Christmas song ever
