Yeah, enforcement of traffic law in Atlanta is a joke. The only thing that will get you pulled over is speeding if you look like you will just pay the fine. If the driver looks like someone that will go before the judge, no ticket.

Run a red light in front of the cop= free pass.

Cut across the gore and across those seven lanes of traffic= free pass

They just passed a law that went into effect the third of June that requires seat belt use in pickup trucks. I am not sure what to think about that one. On the one hand I think anyone not wearing a seat belt is an idiot. On the other I dont need the gubmint to tell me how I can and cannot risk my own ass.

It is supposed to allow you to merge onto the interstate with out any issues. HAH! Dumb ass driver will change lanes into any opening even when there is merging traffic. I also wonder how the light knows when there is an opening in traffic flow. I also drive a 4 cylinder Ranger, Slow as a sick turtle. I have to floor it and shift like a mad man to get to a speed to merege IF I stop at the light. There is one at the end of the ramp south bound onto 75 at Barret pkw. There is an entire lane that starts at that entrance ramp, no need to merege! Way to go Georgia DOT!

Wow, I thought they only turned on the stoplights when the traffic speed was less than 40mph. I didn't realize that they just turned them on based upon time of day. I haven't had much problems with them, but then again..I'm a shift worker, and hardly ever see the damn things switched on. Oh, and a VR6 Corrado (or even my 2500lb 8v A2 Golf) probably probably has more accel than your Ranger. The problem may really be there, I've just been lucky enough not to have had it.

EDIT: After talking to SWMBO (1993 Olds Bravada) and our boarder's parents (mid 00s Ford work van & early 00s Chrysler minivan), I never shoulda said "may really". From what I'm hearing now, the problem is real.

Kinda makes you wonder how the Doraville cops pick victims in their little "strip of horror" on I-285, where everyone speeds or is involved in an accident. Because of perennial lax enforcement, it would take the Georgia National Guard to restore any kind or order.

I'd settle to just piss on the graves of the "astute" planners who approved having three major interstates meet in the center of a hub city.

Come on Steve, you know what will get you pulled over in Doraville. I lived there for 2 years, never got so much as a passing glance from a cop. My friend got pulled over for being a latina in a nice car, ended up getting a ticket for her license plate lights being too dim (stock bulbs, both worked).

Doraville traffic enforcement is similar to Jackson County enforcement, which both Oldsaw and I are familiar with.
