That is awesome and I wish more was done to enforce keep right except to pass. However I would like to punch the people taking the video repeatedly in the face. Especially the dude.

I wish "drive right" was a federal law. It is however at the discretion of the individual state in which you're driving.

The people in that video deserve much worse than being punched in the face.

In many states its illegal to use the left lane when not passing. The cop could write a ticket for improper lane usage, but why bother when everyone can get a good laugh?

I'll donate some of these:

Every highway I have ever been on has had "Keep Right Except to Pass" signs every mile or so. Also "Slower Traffic Keep Right" is common. It may be state laws but I would figure if your going to go through the trouble of putting signs up might as well enforce it.

This begs the question, who is the bigger shiny happy person, the guy going slow in the left lane, or me for passing him on the right?

Agreed. If someone won't move out of the left lane for a faster car, you can either pass on the right, or create a giant line of cars in the left lane. How does that make anything better?

I think its just proper road manners. Illegal or not leaving the left lane open to faster traffic, and moving right to allow faster traffic to overtake makes the highway driving a much better experience for everyone. It really keeps traffic moving and a smooth pace, it's more organized, creates less "clutter", allows one to pass without 20 lane changes, is probably safer, and makes a driver "predictable".

I passed someone on the right yesterday (I'm in Mississippi at the moment) and I still feel "dirty".

In moderate to heavy traffic, passing on the right will prevent the slow pokes on the left from getting out of the way and continuing the problem. I've been stuck behind drivers who are trying to get in the right lane only to have people continue to pass on the right. If that's you, then yeah... that's dickish. If after following for a bit and getting no impression that turtle's gonna get out of his way, then it's time to pass on the right.
If traffic is light, I'll often just stay in the right to pass, or pass on the right rathing then slow down and try to nudge them over..

I usually do a pit maneuver and put them in the median...

At least I dream about it, and then pass on the right.

You should have used the "Richard Petty" method to get em out of the way!
