We can pretend we're above it, but biological evolution makes us have a chemical reaction to symmetry and a hundred other features of the human body that make us happy when we see people that would make good mates. It improves the breed by driving us to procreate with the person (or people) that is (are) most likely to help us produce healthy, successful offspring. That doesn't mean for a second that there aren't other very important (even crucial to the success of our kind) attributes that one can posess.

I just enjoy the chemical reactions that I have when I see someone who would be likely to help me produce good offspring.
