Ok, everyone knows I have a 2007 Mazdaspeed3. Ok maybe no one knows it, but who cares. I have one. Been slowly working on building it out, and recently completed the intake side. Everything is aftermarket. Mani, all the piping to the turbo, the works. Exhaust side is minimal at this point, because it seems to be about the time the exhaust side gets done on these cars they start puking rods. Fuel is a bit of a mystery at the moment as there really isn't what I'd call a concrete solution to the problem. The CDFP up top likes to fail at higher RPMS, car goes lean, and then goes boom. Anyhow, onto my problem. I have a set of lightweight wheels waiting to go on the car, a brand new set of Hotchkis sways in the hatch, and some other small parts. Problem is, I'm thinking about selling all of it and starting over. I'd likely end up buying the same crap again, or a different version of the same crap. Eventually it's going to be on Konis and Eibachs, assuming it doesn't strike me to start somewhere else. Anyone else had this problem?
Yep, that sounds about right.

Yes, but don't fall for it. It's a trap.
I want a Jeep. Badly. Right after spending several hundred getting my old Nissan truck running. My truck is worth maybe $500 on a good day. I can't (read won't) afford $4500 for a Wrangler in iffy condition.
What am I doing? I'm sticking with what I have. I'm planning a pre-runner-esque truck. I need to get a locking rear diff.
Sometimes ADD helps. As soon as you start spending a lot of money on a car, you lose.

Sorry, but I suffer from the other sort of ADD - Automotive Dedication Derangement
No reason to sell what I have, cause I'd end up with your version of the syndrome.
I really dont know what your talking about....
Look who you're asking. I have 6 cars. My wife has 1. Can you guess which 1 is unmodified?
The first step is admitting you have a problem. I do, but I just don't care!
20 and counting, however 6 actually run
This past weekend I dragged home a sailboat.
I already have an inoperable boat on a trailer in my backyard (but it has an engine...)
I have a paddle powered craft as well.
I have a motorbike AND a moped (either of which could be running at any moment...just down for pre-spring carburetor rebuilds) but I still dragged home a CL360 a few weeks back. Its condtition could best be described as "A basket case that still has all the bolts rusted in place."
I dragged (literally) a Volvo 740 turbo, 5 speed wagon home shortly before that. Just this past weekend I got around to actually working on replacing the head gasket (tear-down about 1/2 complete).
I bought a dirtbike because it was cheap. Who knows when or if that'll run (but I did work on it this weekend).
I traded the fiberglass cowl hood off of my '77 chevy truck for some other good body parts because I could.
I'm contemplating buying more vintage scooters from a member on this board...
Oh...yeah...and my house has no floors or walls (literally) right now becasue I'm that deep into a renovation.
Now who has project ADD?
Don't worry, it's healthy!
I sometimes really like it(when I can afford it), because sooner or later I'll get burn out on whatever long-term project I'm working on - usually right after a big push to get a phase competed by a certain date/time. If I have other projects around, I can always put my efforts into it for a while, until I can stand to go back to the first one.
Of course, right now being in the middle of remodeling the 8800sq-ft building we picked up last September(and hoping to be moved into the apartment upstairs by the end of the year) means no time or money to work on the Miata(or probably even autox this year), or start on the 66 Jeep I've had for a year now & haven't touched yet.
If there's a cure for this disease, it certainly isn't more cars - just look at Jay Leno or Sultan of Brunei (in jealousy )

Ok, just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone on this. Wife won't let me near the Mini anymore after threats of a plaid interior were made (c'mon, it...sorta german, right) and the ms3 is at sort of a crossroads between driveable on a daily basis, and barely running. I keep looking for Miatas and bad things to stuff in them, when I'm not looking for another DSM (another thing the wife would likely divorce me for) a Hyundai Excel, one of the cars that the Mirage was made into, a Ford Escort, Festiva or Aspire, and for some godawful unknown reason, a Neon. I still haven't figured out WHY I want a Neon, but I want one.
Off-topic tangent:
Clem, what did you name your boat? I thought it would be rad to name a boat "Seaward." I kind of stole it from Arrested Development.
Imagine people's reaction when you tell them "I have to take the ole 'Seaward' out."
My AADD has me looking for 3 things. A roomier DD, RWD toy, and a jeep.
Hi, my name is Jonathan and I have car ADD.
I know mine isn't as bad as some but I counted how many cars and motorcycles we've had since we moved in our house 4 years ago and came up with 9 cars and 4 motorcycles. The DDs don't really change too often just the projects.
AADD, MCADD, I has them too.
Feel not bad. The AADD Force is strong in you.

I declare that you have won this thread. Also, I totally forgot about the 85 GSL-SE i'm trying to get my dad to sell to me, since he bought it from my brother when my brother decided to go DSM.
Mmmmm GSL-SE... My next 1st Gen will be one of those. Or a green SA. Or a Bronze SA. Or a 5.0 swap FB. Sigh
Anybody want a Concord?

Yeah, the local dorito nuts are all angry at me because I keep threatening the car with parts that may or may not have been "donated" from a certain 2004 GTO. Or else the 13b is gonna get a peri port and Im gonna own two cars that shoots fire. Havent decided yet, which has probably saved my marriage.
