Average age of the cars you own?

Looks like my cars average 32 years old. The 2001 GTI really drags up the average compared to the 68 Renault and the 71 Fiat.

FWIW, The weekend cruiser is 1951 Henry J, and the boy drives a 1964 Nova to HS.

Down to just 1 car that is 15 years old.

I'm finding that as I get older, I hang on to a car longer...tho I've only had this one about 2 or 3 years.

At one point, I had 3 cars and a motorcycle. One of the cars was new, one 3 years old, and one 6 years old. (To be young again and to have money to spend on cars without having to worry about unexpected expenses.)

27 years old - one 26-year-old VW and one 28-year-old Mazda.

I hope in a few years to get a 26 year old VW Fox! I've been waiting for quite a while for those to roll into emissions exemption

(45+16+12+10+9+8)/6 = 16.666 for all the cars.

If I drop the untagged (but running) Pontiac, it's 11.2 for all the cars that are driven on a regular basis.

That's just over 32. I think if you factor in rough times, it's more 32 than 33.

Of the drivers, it's just 17.66. (of the runners, it's 22.75)

17.8 yrs, and that's in Ohio, the home of road salt.

As interesting as the average age is, the average number of cars is fun to look at too. Without doing any math I would guess my 5 vehicles is less than average around here!

The cars I drive average out to only 3.33 years old. Take out the brand new one and that number rockets up to 5. If I include the 1955, 1985,1987, and 1988 that don't run and may never run again, but I technically still own, then I'm down to 20.4 which is at least respectable in present company.

07 05 99 94 88 77= 16.83ish. The Volare that I keep forgetting I own brings that average up for me :D

Looks like most everybody is averaging in the 15-25 range. I guess that is a pretty wide band though.
