This sells it. Thanks.

F for profit banks. They don't want your business as proven by their dick head tactics. Credit Union all the way.

Really, for profit banks are not so evil. It's the practices that lead them to be evil.

There are plenty of for profit banks who have realsitic costs, fees to go with the services, and they have a coscience for something you like.

Again, it's amusing that a board with so many free marketers and no oversight can be so against a for profit bank.

We're not against for-profit banks.

We're against certain for-profit banks.

+1. Need we revive the 5/3 thread? With a social media analyst putting out the fires against said bank?

My current bank is for profit, has free checking, and knows me when I walk in to real life people being bank tellers and branch managers. Probably the best thing going for them is they have 3 branches. The worst thing is only having 2 ATMs 25 miles apart that don't work about 25% of the time I want/need some cash.

In reply to ReverendDexter:

Based on the comments that are so pro CU, and so many bashes against banks, mostly in general, the "we" seems pretty small.

I'm a member of a CU, too, but they, too, have costs to cover, and need to have some kind of fees. But if I found a bank, whether it be Bank of Ann Arbor or Chase that meets my needs at a reasonable cost- it's fine.

WooHoo! My credit union has a Texas Ratio of 15.2%!

7.54% here... and 38 employees... but that may be out of date... they did just open another branch.

yes they have fees here and there... somone hacked my paypal and took some cash... I bounced some checks... setup a fraud alert with PP... called my CU... when money was returned all bounced check fees disappeared... one call...

heck my mom and dad had a CU from their home town the entire time dad was in the military... every few years we'd come back "home" they would walk in and we'd all be addressed by our names and ask how things where going in whatever country we where in...

that being said we have run into some add on fees in the past at other CU's... our money (little we had) walked... there are tons of other CU's... don't know why so many of them act like they are the only game in town
