Around here we have Mulberry trees/ bushes. When we first bought our little 3 acre farmette we were like, "Oh, look, Mulberry trees! Free fruit!". 2 years on, the berkeleyers sprout up every-damn-where, and I'm pulling them out with my truck, because taproot.

Yeah...glyphosate. Basically, they genetically modify corn and soybeans (and other stuff too, but those are the big ones right now) to be "roundup-proof", plant it, spray the piss out of the fields to kill off everything else, and harvest. The problem is that Glyphosate runs off into the water, and also kills not just weeds but insects too- valuable insects like, you know, bees. And now the weeds are become less and less vulnerable to the glyphosate. So they have to use more of it.

I'm not a big earth and tree hugger, but even I can deduce this probably isn't going to end well. We live in a big corn farming area, and I shudder a little when I see the seed signs from Monsanto, et al on the sides of the fields of G-M corn.

The other thing that ticks me off is the only sources of real info on it are either Monsanto who says its perfectly safe, or the tinfoil hat crowd who are afraid of oxygen

First post but this topic caught my attention because here in South Carolina I fight a yearly battle with all kinds of "jungle" vines that sprout up all yearlong. This stuff here has worked very good for me if you follow the directions and can buy it where you live. I have to go to a farm suppy store to get it.
