From the article:

Wired said: Employers would be obliged to look up every new hire in the database to verify that they match their photo.

This is where I get nervous. Folks alluded to it, but when people think they have all the answers, they stop listening. Bureaucracies are worse. A group of hackers just stole 45 million from unsecure banks. Technology is vunerable, becuase someone will try to break it. So what happens when a guy eeds to clean himslef up a bit and forks over 6 digits to a syndicate in the far east who hack my profile?

Furthermore, the next step alluded to in my quote is they are already forcing compnanies into law enforcement. You get the slightest quiver on your bio account and they compnay simply won't hire you. It could be a mistake, a glitch or a hack, you'll never know. They just get a no from the IT HR department and you are escorted from the buolding. Where does that leave you? Where is your recourse?

You don't want to pay for my bad eating/riding/drinking choices? I'm OK with that, but I don't want to deal with a buracracy trying to prove I am employable becuase you feel I should have to buy my own insulin.

In 1997 I got a part time job with a upstart IT compnay. Like so many, they wer preaching the gosphel of the technology and insisted on background checks for all employees. They went through a third part organization, becuase they couldn't do it on their own (like every compnay will do with this). Somewhere along the lin a fiole got confused and I was refused employment becuase my background check showed I had a Minor In Posession Charge (MIP) in Nebraska 1992.

Good right? No employer should have to pay for my poor choices right? Except in 1992 I was 21 and living in Germany. I was a military E-4 and held a Top Secrect security clearence. I pionted out to my new employer that I was qualified with our nations sensitive data but not to feild level 1 help desk calls? That finally got me the reson I had been denied, I pionted out the flaw and was employed. The only reason I got that far was it was the tech boom and they needed folks. In this employment market, never gonna happen.

The piont is this, the technology might be solid, but the organization and buracracy won't. Because those are staffed by peaple andpeaple make mistakes, intentional or otherwise. Every had a title issue with a car? Everyone has. Your granfather, your father, you, despite in every iteration the technology of the period was going to change all of that and make it easier.

Your DNA on file protecting your credit, id, health and immigration status? Yeah, good luck with that

It would be best to stick with the Monsanto/government approved food pyramid though just in case. You don't want to give the appearance of being a rebel.
