Thanks for posting that. I'd not heard of her before but I really like her voice.

This thread is full of awesome. I'm usually not much for country music, "but, but, Utah!" Anyway, I try to keep an open mind and so far I've not been disappointed.

Man this thread makes me smile. There is so much cool stuff going on in underground/roots country-or whatever it's called.

-Colter Wall sold his soul for that voice

-Jason Isbel's last album started with a song about his friend dying of cancer and the whole album got sadder from there

-Justin Townes Earle is more talented than his father (fight me)

-Tyler Childers is Eastern Kentucky's answer to Kurt Cobain-that guy has the fury in his heart

-Sturgill is turning into a chameleon. First album sounded like Waylon Jennings, last album sounds like Floyd.

-Someday David Rawlings is going to go electric and everybody will figure out just how good he is

If Jason Isbell hits you that hard, never EVER listen to Ian Noe. He makes Isbell sound like happy Saturday morning cartoon themes songs.

That's because I bet most of what you have been exposed to as "country" music is Nashville-produced commodity product meant as filler between commercial breaks on CMT and your local megawatt hick-40 station.

FYI: Volume 1 of Cuttin' Grass was released last month.   The Ryman concert (linked above) is amazing stuff.   I tend to prefer live recordings over studio recordings when it comes to bluegrass...but the album is very well done.   Who knows when Volume 2 will be  released, but Volume 1 is available.

I was supposed to see Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers for my birthday this year. Thanks covid.

Whiskey Myers is a solid listen too. And Chris Stapleton dropped a new album a couple days ago. It's great. He also did a really good job fronting the Steeldrivers.
