I'm switching cell carriers (going from T Mobile to Verizon) and am going to retire my old Motorola W490 flip phone (which has been a pretty decent unit). It has a pretty sizeable video on it which means a lot to me, when I go into the menu it can only be transferred via Bluetooth. Okay, cool. My new LG Cosmos has Bluetooth. So I pair the phones, they link up, I try to transfer the vid. The LG says 'file format not supported' and automatically disconnects. Okay, I grabbed the kid's older Cosmos, same damn thing. T Mobile is useless. Are there any Bluetooth brainiacs out there who know what to do?

This is why you should film the topless spring break girls with a real camera and not a phone.

Does your computer have a bluetooth card? If so try to transfer it to your computer directly. Alternatively, have you tried saving the file to a microsd card?

Dave, the girls get torqued when the cameraman is that obvious. They start hollering something about royalties.

I might see if I can steal a Bluetooth card. The phone does not give the option of saving the vid anywhere other than the phone's memory and it does not have a micro SD card port. I can connect it to my laptop via a USB cable and the two devices 'see' each other but the phone won't let me transfer the video that way. I have a funny feeling it has to do with Verizon and TMobile protecting their programming.

I have a Verizon Motorola flip phone. I don't know the model number, but it has bluetooth, etc. and not much else. Pics and vids go to memory and when you link it via USB to your computer, the pic/vid directory is not accessible to the computer. It is my opinion that they deliberately did this so you can't get your data off with phone without "uploading" it to the verizon web site to be emailed back to you at some outrageous price, like a buck a pic. However, you can fit a micro SD card into the phone next to the camera lens and then transfer your vids/pics to the micro SD card, after which you can pull the card and put it in a card reader and get your stuff off.

So, are you sure you can't put a micro SD card in there? Pull the back cover and look for a slot about 1CM square.

Hmm. Now that I get the back cover off again and look at it more closely, sure enough there is a (not very well marked) slot for a micro SD card. It looks like one of the catch slots for the cover until you see the small symbol next to it. Hopefully that will take care of things. Thanks, Doc!
